Re: PM Question?

Go to User Control Panel -> Board Preferences and select British English. The theme they're using doesn't have a full image pack for both versions of English. The links are there but invisible, you can confirm this by viewing the page source code.

Re: PM Question?

If you're in your message center look to the left of the page above the Inbox link and you'll see "Compose message". I can't say if that's different than how it used to be since I don't really use that feature.

We've Seen Nixie Clocks, Tranistor Clocks And Now.

...We have the resistor clock Tell Time While Learning The Resistor Color Code Very clever and well implemented in my opinion. I'm trying to convince myself I don't need to make a clock. In case you're interested in the other clocks mentioned see below: Vacuum Tubes And Nixes Nixies And Neons uC And...

Re: USB port selector hub (not a regular hub)

After more thought I think you'll be ok. What part(s) of the hub will you be salvaging? The connectors, case, etc.?

Re: USB port selector hub (not a regular hub)

Make sure whatever method you choose powers the devices before connecting the data lines. If you'll notice the power pins on a USB connector are longer so they make first and break last.

Re: When To Change The Filter On A Fume Extractor

Thanks for the info. I guess my concern was that the activated carbon filter could become saturated by lead and flux fumes before becoming clogged by dust. Is that unrealistic? If that is possible would the fume smoke stop "disappearing"? Is there any visual indication that the filter has ...

When To Change The Filter On A Fume Extractor

I was fortunate enough to receive a fume extractor over the holidays and I can't seem to find when it's necessary to change the filter. Does a filter change depend on elapsed time, flow rate, chemical concentrations or some combination thereof?

Re: Speaker not working =(

Check that you have the electrolytic capacitors in the proper orientation and that the IC (black thing, 8 leads) is also properly mounted.

Other Side Of The World DIG A HOLE THROUGH THE EARTH Tunnel to the Other Side of the Earth I've stumbled across sites like you suggested a few times over the years. The one that sticks out eludes me at the current time but it had other options like where would you end up if you walked in a straight...

I don't think it's either. I'm fairly certain it's mislabled and is in fact just a buzzer.

Re: Memory card reader with video outputs ?

If you're using a TV as the picture frame and want to avoid spending money on your project most DVD and even Blu-Ray players will perform a slideshow if you insert a DVD, CD or Blu-Ray disc loaded with pictures. I know you said memory card but I thought I'd mention the above just in case you didn't ...

Have you inserted a disk into drive D:\? If you have either your drive is no good or you don't have the proper drivers installed.
