Nope, can't connect to it. And I think I know why. CC by default blocks all incoming connections. It's a very nice feature, but interferes with web servers. This drove me nuts for the longest time. I could get to my site but no outside visitors. Go into the control panel, the network tab, Incoming, ...

Nice walkthrough!

But...You're site won't load!

Also, you mentioned SSH for uploading files. This may sound dumb but what is that? I always use FTP with the built in FTP Server to CC, but this sounds interesting.

Request for more Personal Message storage

The Personal Message feature fills up quick, very quick, with messages. Would it be possible for an administrator here to give us a little more storage for Personal Messages. I dobut this would use up much space on the server, but if it does it's not the biggest deal to just have to delete some mess...

frhrwa, I can use a lot of that stuff as well, especially the hard drives, NIC cards and motherboards (what processors and boards are they?). What kind of RAM? I could really use both 128 or 256MB PC100 or 133 chips, as well as DDR RAM. Do you have anything specific you would like to trade for? Let ...

I'm interested in almost all of them - especially the ones from the Maxtor down on your list. However if you really need to get rid of them, I'd take them all - I just don't want to grab every one before others have had a chance. I just sent you a PM regarding the AGP cards, perhaps we can work out ...

Clarkconnect detects LAN cards, what slots they are in and all of the other system parts during installation I belive. It would be best to borrow the cd-rom from your other computer or to try and borrow one from someone at work. But it is a good idea not to have a cd-rom connected all of the time. C...

Yes of course you can! You first have to turn on the Web Server feature though. You can use php plus MySQL databases, FTP sever, Local file server including Samba for windows access, CUPS print server. It also includes features such as built-in firewall (if you use two network cards, one connects to...

I actually run my server on an older Pentium 233mHz MMX with 256MB ram and a 100GB hard drive. It's nothing fancy, but works perfect for the 4 websites I host and has plenty of room and even speed left for more pages. 256MB should be enough, and if it isn't, you can always add more! And for ClarkCon...

How much does the entire 5 lb of the Heavy Duty heatsink weigh, so I can figure roughly how much per foot.

Are you interested in trades? I've got tons of computer and electronics parts, if there's anything specific you are looking for I can see if I have it.

I may be interested in some of the 10K 1/4W resistors, the 10K 1/2W Vishay resistors and a few of the LCD screens. Are the resistors through hole mount or surface? Also, what kind of things are you looking for in trade. I've got tons of computer parts if you have any use for them, and I have tons of...

Did the server include all of the hardware? Processor, RAM, etc.? If so, what did it come with? Looks like a nice board!

It's actually quite simple depending on software choice.

My personal favorite is the free ClarkConnect. It's a full linux server with apache and a bunch of other features such as firewall, local server, FTP server, etc. all built in and easy to use.

It takes nothing to install either.

Frequently hiss is caused by one of the following things: - Output impedence of source and input impedence of amp mismatch (should be the same) - Cheap wire - Cheap amp - Ground loop or non-grounded equipment - Bad power supply caps/not enough caps - Low-quality input source (cheap sound card in com...

You do know the solution you mix up with those $15 crystals lasts a long time, correct? You can get dozens of medium-sized boards, especially depening on how you design them (for example, fill it with a copper pour and the etchant lasts a lot longer). $15 doesn't seem too bad - I've had my solution ...
