Yes , or No ?
OK, I'm having a Retardo Mentalbloc day, so I'll ask a " yes or no " question. If I get enough 'yeas', I'll pursue the project. Here goes; Two (2) 2V triangular waves, 90° out of phase, have an absolute value difference of |2V| at all times (ideal). SO, can a single op-amp (or comparator )...

Re: Prevention of Fine Soot Entering Room
Not everything is an electronic problem. I use Chris' idea on my filters. Some 'Lysol' sprays leave an 'adhesive' residue. That said, how well is your house sealed? Is it possible that your dryer, bathroom vent fans, & main heating system are all trying to evacuate the house when the Whitfield c...

Re: What's the advantage of useing a hot air rework station
Have you ever tried soldering point-to-point, without a PCB ? I bought a Japanese Zero model to make a whirligig ( when the wind blows, prop-turns-generator, blinks LED 'machine guns'), and will probably have to Pt-2-Pt the circuitry in the wings (about 3/16" thk.). Also, for space-saving and c...

WHEN cleaning it, you're probably releasing a trace amount of dust, which accumulates over time. Elsewise, be sure your flue has some backflow prevention. An ionic filter near the door should catch alot of it.

Shape up, fellas ! If you don't brush up on your German, you'll never move up the corporate ladder at Siemens !! Wo werden Sie arbeiten am Morgen ? Machen Sie seinem Hausaufgabe !!! Phil, I think this topic begs another question;
What solder do you use, & from where ? I heard liquid flux only. And what about conductive epoxies ? ((oops, 3 questios !))

Re: impedance comverter
Maybe a novice reply, but;
what about a transformer? Maybe wind your own. 100 turns of 22AWG with 110 turns of 32AWG over that, on a ferrite rod.
I will now turn on the light to see what I shot.

OK . Then here's a real question, unlike slingshot's whimsical rhetoric;
Do you know how many real technologies were PREDICTED BY MATHEMATICS, based on physics principles, before they ever existed ? Lasers & Nuclear fission are two, and I believe the transistor also.
So much for a shot in th...

Re: Analog noise in the real world
In filters, there are passive, and active. Has anyone done work on active grounding ? The variations off the ground plane are essentially AC in nature, so it seems to me that a capcitively coupled error amplifier connected between shields can clamp those changes. Doesn't a single-terminated shield b...

Ditto.
Hey, in regards to ohm's law ( and in parallel with another thread ) , I remember it by using the German word for EGG; EIR. Everything after that is an algebraic ( al-jabbar ) manipulation.
Sprechen sie Spater auf !!

With this post I'm looking to accomplish something different. Every field has mnemonic devices to aid memory recall. In music, it's Frank Can Go Down And Eat Breakfast; FCGDAEB is the sequence of sharps in a key signature. For a 3-way light switch, it's;
Black to the Black, White to the white, Red...
