Re: How to sense over/under frequency ?

There is an old Ic which I think is still around, which can be used as a V to F or an F to V - now to remember it's part number, I think it was an LM something - used to be used a lot for rev counter projects.

Found it! http://www.jaycar.com.au/images_uploaded/LM2907.PDF

Re: Trying to debug a timeout error

What happens if you just ping or traceroute your router? My result is less than 1ms and if I trace to my cable modem I get a 1ms response via the router. Is your ADSL modem part of the router or a seperate box - what happens if you: a: trace to that. b: disconnect the router and connect the ADSL mod...

Re: Trying to debug a timeout error

Should the 169.254.0.0 entry be there? Seeing as how that is an MS provided fall back when it can't resolve to a DHCP or manual IP address.

That looks to be the routers gateway address, which doesn't look right to me - but I'm not an authority on this.

If this is a serious post - then more information is required as per the title, as for the body, well that's impossible!

Freeby- well almost!

I have gathering dust - a complete set of Borland Turbo Pascal for Windows, reference and user books. These date back to Win3.11 (Wot's that then) /W95 and are free to anyone who may just want the set. Postage would need to be at cost - the set is heavy. Comprises: Users Guide Programmers guide Wind...

FS: Unusual Digital 'Scope for audio purposes

Handheld digital 'scope using a Gameboy as the processor. Elektor Gameboy Oscilloscope - Full working order, fine for audio work - no probes excellent as a pocket scope - The Gameboy is even a colour model. Not sure if I still have the optional PC software, but can provide the two articles that went...

FS: FPGA Course Module from Elektor

Never used! The only assembly required are the edge connectors for the FPGA module and LCD to fit onto the baseboard. It consists of two parts - the main peripheral module board - TV, Audio, PS/2, Keyboard, USB, Ethernet, connections, and the FPGA board which is an Altera Cyclone 12,060 elements, 4M...

I'm not sure, but a problem there is that the server(s) being used for the attack appeared to be from the provider of one of the main DNS servers for the Philippines.

The current spam attack 15/12/2008

If you find one of your genuine posts has been deleted in error, please accept my apologies, it just means I was a bit over eager in the deletion of the spam entries. As the spammer is online as I type this under their multitudinous personalities, as fast as I delete a swathe they are replacing them...

For a console application, I'm pretty sure the only class you will need is system.io

Same as Visual Basic, you will need to decide if you are opening binary or text files etc.

Not sure how relevant this is to the US hobby market but if you intend to use lead free solder, make sure you get an iron that has enough heat capacity and comes with so called lead free bits. Sadly, bits do not last very long in the pb free environment, If you can afford it, then I quite like the M...

Legally they should reduce the price by 19% as they would be shipping to a non EU/VAT country.

If you want to use I2C phone displays, then there is a Romanian supply who has these very cheap.
