Hey John

What tool did you use to do your simulation?

I tried to create the same simulation in PSpice with different results... probably something I did.

Great Job!

my design does call for a AA size cell.

I am aware that I could use a 3.7 AA cell but would like to keep it at 1.5

haklesup thanks for the chip manufactures. Its been awhile and I new I was forgetting some. National Semiconductor does make some nice parts and I ordered some to test.

1.5V to 5V

I need a solution to go 1.5V to 5V

I dont have a pwr requirement as of yet... but I would guess the load would be around 100mA at 5V

I've found one solution that was a switching regulator from TI.

Just wanted to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

Tony

I recently ordered some parts for a project... I must say I was impressed of there capabilities from the spec sheet. Thanks for the great input! Let me give a little more information. I will be using a AA size battery. So lets say I buy a real nice Lithium 1.5V 3000mAH ($3.75 each) Now I will be needing to drive a Display, Micro and and Sensors. For the display I chose this part from digikey... let me first get th...

Picking the right battery

I was planning to make a widget that would run on batteries. I've never had to select one before.. thought it would be fun. I have a device that would draw 1.2W at 5 volts. So here are some silly questions. --mAh-- Is that the max current rating the battery can handle? If so how does the hour come i...

Hello Bigglez. I was looking at a very similar part from Osram.. HDSP2000LP I was not able to find a location to purchase it thou. The part you mentioned is great and what I am looking for... It is kinda wider then my design requirements. The parts you have in your stock pile... are they smaller? wi...

Small Displays

Hello all...

I am doing a small design that needs a small alpha display.

4 chars wide would be nice.

.75" wide and .375" tall.

5volts or less

dont care what type of interface is needed.

THANKS!

here is some constructive criticism. I agree with philba. I think what you want to do is quite doable. for a beginner it might be a little challenging. This would be a typical embedded project that would involve a microcontroller. I would purchase a demo board that had the following chip on it PIC18...

Interview Questions

I would like to hear some questions you would ask the interviewer while on your interview. I have 3 yrs experience with a good company. During this time I've had my resume online to see if i get any bites... and I got one! I would hate to leave a good company for a company that dies in the near futu...

Hello Lutino My long term goal is to build a vonage-like box that would either run xp or linux, and that would have a sdcard extension for added programmed features. If you want to run Windows for your project and add some peripherals.. take a look at one of my project that I did awhile back. http:/...

Pi crop

Another crop circle has appeared in the English countryside — and this one's clearly been made by someone, or something, that understands math. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,368422,00.html But an electrical engineer from North Carolina — described by the London newspapers as a "retire...

Interesting.. TMS for TI chips "today" is their DSP line of processors. I've used the TMS320F282x for a little bit now.. very nice.

and then theres always TI's micros MSP's

I would say any micro could be used to restore the function of the game.

I was never good at that Simon game :x
