interview questions

How about stock price history and 401k matching.
Also maybe company provided tools and supplies. Calibration programs and such.

Thank you Robert, rshayes and others who took time to post. Yes the pulses will transmit one way temp data through the water up to the receiver at the boat. I was thinking about transmitting one 16 bit word every 30 seconds or so. That should give me resolution enough for tenths of a degree, and kee...

No, the fish are not disturbed. There are commercial units available, and using one always means more fish. When you fish the big lake, you use what is known as a downrigger. It is a winch with a large weight attached. You cast out your spoon and then let the water take out more line, then you clip ...

I was hoping to mount the pic and the battery in a small container around the size of a pack of smokes. I would mount the piezo and the temp probe outside the case. The device would be clamped to a down rigger for lake superior trout fishing. Finding the thermalcline is key for a good catch. Robert,...

Opinions wanted for data through water

Would like your opinions on the best way to transmit data through water. This is the scenario: An LM34 driving a pic driving some sort of transducer. The range will be 200 feet to 0 feet. the receiver will be some sort of transducer driving a pic driving an lcd. It will measure water temp. My first ...

Ideas for battery powered heater wanted.

I am working on a project where i need to heat 200cc of water from about 90f(+1 -5F) to 99f in less than an hour. One time use. It should be able to be run off one 9v or one d or c cell or possibly a couple aa cells. I have some ideas of my own but I always enjoy other peoples take on a problem. Tha...

info wanted on IBM 23f1040 driver card

I've looked on the net for info on this driver card for a big IBM printer with no luck.
I was wondering if anyone here may have the print for it. The number is 23F1040.
it drives a servo , a stepper and a dc motor, and probably other things as well.
Thanks

Re: MS 555 timer false trigger

Update: Thank you all for your valuable input. I had been aware of some but not all of your advice. Last night I wired up some 74c14 schmitt triger inverters for a one second delay. They each drive an mps a64 darlington which drives the relay. The kids have been playing the game all morning with no ...

Re: MS 555 timer false trigger

I will try using some twisted wire from the switches. About wires being spike transmitters, that may be true but it was the same malfunction when the relays were on board. To answer Dale's questions, 1: diodes on board, 2: relays and motors connected, AC off. I have scrutinized the supply rails with...

Re: MS 555 timer false trigger

Thanks for your replies, but, as I mentioned in the third line of my original post "the output is diode protected" and my power supply is more than adequate at 12 volts at 32 amps. (computer style). Yes the input impedance is very high on these 555's, but it's looking for a voltage of 1/3 ...

MS 555 timer false trigger

Hi All, I've run ito a problem I could use some input on. What I've got is (4) 555 monostabe circuits each on their own board, 12V supply properly bypassed and decoupled at the chip, wired for one second pulse (10uFd-2K,68K), The output is diode protected, goes by a set of 1 foot wires to a 12V rela...
