Re: 24 VDC Brushless Cooling Fan

check that the case of the fan is not connected to the 0V (or in your case -12V) lead or you may end up shorting the supply.

Re: precise location in space

Gps accuracy can be inproved using differential GPS it requires haveing a fixed GPS base station that reads in the GPS and compaires it to its actual position the error is then transmitted (via rf link ) to the mobile GPS receiver on the Kart the kart gets its position from it's own GPS receiver and...

Re: robotics information

First thing is to decide what you want the robot to do. Then this will identify what interfaces you will need which should define the requirements for the processor. I suggest to start you select something simple one option is a line following robot. This something that can follow a line drawn on a ...

Re: Logic Help Please

Paul you need to connect all of the address lines to 0V except the line that you are testing. or they will foat high. also try programming the eprom with a simple pattern that is easy to see what is happening a simple 1 to 1 relationship will be a start. eg address 0 data 0x01 address 1 data 0x02 ad...

Re: Wall Edge Detector

Infra red devices will generally give you a yes / no decision of a object being present(the wall in yoyr case) to reflect the light it can be made immume to other light sources by modulateing the drive to the Infra red emmitter and looking for a modulated signal from the detector.
The ultra sonic...

Re: Wall Edge Detector

A possable way would be to use ulta sonic range detection do a search for PICAXE (a low cost basic stamp look alike) Where thier is an ultra sonic module that is easy to interface. fit this ubove the robot angled so that the beam hits the wall about 6" infront of the robot. the distance will te...

Re: Bit serial networks.

you have two options either the source node will have to continousally re send the data in a loop untill it changes or the destination node will have to store the last received data.
a serial network of nodes was the bases of the now defunct transputer each transputer had 4 bi directional serial ...

Re: Best Interface Option

just to equal the balance i suggest you stick to the serial data and feed it in to a serial port (you may need to convert to RS232 levels first ) Visual Basic must still have some form of "open Com" commands to configure the serial port and and some form of input commpan to read from the p...

Re: Pulses to control stepper motor

you could use a standard stepper moter driver ic that takes in pulses and rotates the moter one position per pulse now it depends on your stepper motor ie How many steps per one full rotation normally this is either 24 or 48
For 48 steps you will need to multiply the input signal by 12 to get the...
