As the question is formulated A) is the correct, if by undervoltage is meant a control voltage relay. I don't know how you do this in a 120v environment, but here with 240V, we use 24V as a control circuit voltage.

You could use a SPI UART chip to add a new serial channel to the micro, like the max3100.

Depending on the traffic, you could multiplex the SCI to 2 RS232 drivers with a couple of gates so you could switch between the PC and the sensors.

The main reason Eagle is like it is, is historic. In use, the version I have now(3.5x) is not much different from the version I started with in -93, in DOS. It's addapted to a GUI environment, but the basic engine is still keyboard/entry focused. I would think that for all users that can only/are us...

If you glue [or tape] the catalogue paper on normal copy paper as a backing. You can see the making here. http://thomaspfeifer.net/direct_toner_pcb.htm Here it's used normal Scotch tape.

I don't think the 'Electronics World' is for the world, only UK. I used to subscribe on it, but the P&P abroad is insane. You get it for $90 in UK and I had to pay $160 in Norway, for one year.

If you compare with Elektor Electronics, you only pay $25 for the extra P&P ($82 vs $107).

Re: Lithium ion battery pinout mystery

My granddaughter bought a Geni G910, a Korean cell phone, without a charger. The battery has three terminals, two close to each other on the left, and one on the right. Is there a way to determine which is positive and which is negative? TIA, Grant The Nicad batteries I've used of the same construc...

Replace the fuse first. This fuse is only protecting the low mA range shunt. The 10A range has normally a separate shunt.

If you can't find the leak when removing the fuses, try to remove the positive lead from the generator, starter, clock and computer if installed.

Digital or analogue, you use an ampmeter on the highest range, normally 10ADC. Loosen one pole(+) on the battery and put the meter between like you said. If your generator has a diode bridge, I would check out the diodes in this for reverse current leakage. This happens from time to time. Another po...

I have experienced that some chips run into a deadlock/interlock on certain occations and conditions. The only way to fix that is to remove the power. For your 555, this could be an internal design flaw that require a current limit on the discharge output. The capacitor is not a special low ESR type...

Hello again, I like that little Prallelex heat sensor, but i am wondering how it works at other temperatures, like say -20 degrees F ? Does it still work at that temp or go south? I have looked through some sites for the temp data and found that most of the small PIR detectors had a temp rage of 23...

Re: Polythermal fuse

Can anyone recomend a polythermal fuse to use with a 3amp voltage regulator ciruit? I'm a little confused because of the hold amperage and the trip amperage is so far apart on most. Should i choose a fuse that holds at 3amps so i can draw the max out of the voltage? regulator or should I choose a f...
