Identifying electric motor lead wires
Is there a simple method of identifying the lead wires on a 3/4HP 120/240V single phase capacitor start reversible electric motor? The motor is an old Westinghouse 1725 RPM motor. It has 6 wires in the junction box. The capacitor is good. The motor hums but won't turn. I thing it just might be wired...

IC Identification request
Hi, I have a remote control receiver board that is used to control a hydraulic steering assembly on a piece of farm equipment. The remote control will steer left, but not right. The remote control is not at fault as there is a set of indicator led's on the receiver board that flash whenever a button...

It sounds like your tv has a smps power supply in it. If the horizontal output transistor is shorted, the smps will squeal. As for the reason the transistor shorted, it could be anything from a broken solder connection in the circuitry to the base of the transistor (common on many makes and models) ...

Hi, Thanks everypne for your replies! I completed the project with 7 180 ohm resistors for each digit and it works perfectly. The only difficulty I had was placing the resistors. The displays are not attached to the board but rather sit alongside the board at a right angle. As the pinout of the LED ...

Hi, The display is not strobed. It's 3 digits driven by 3 7447's (DM7447AN is printed on the chips) and the power supply is 5V. The LED's I have are common anode, red in color and have an If rating of 20mA according to the datasheet. They are NAR 161 LED's, Digikey part #404-1124-ND. What I am actua...

7 segment display current limiting resistors
I am using a 7447 display driver IC to drive a 7 segment LED display. How do I determine the value of the current limiting resistors for each segment?

Re: DVD Scratch Repair
The scratches are shallow and cause the picture and sound to keep freezing up at the end of the disc.

DVD Scratch Repair
Hi, I recently purchased a DVD scratch repair kit and was disappointed with the results. The cloth pads that came with the kit put more scratches in the disc than the repair fluid removed. Does anyone have any experience with these products and are any of them any good?

Re: Mitsubishi TV CS-27301 Roll
IC200 is probably good. I would check for a leaky electrolytic capacitor as it's by far the most likely component to cause the trouble. If you don't have a capacitor checker, look closely and if you are lucky you might find one with paste oozing out past it's leads. If so, replace it and it should c...

Is this tv a Zenith by any chance? I've seen lots of Zenith's do this.
