I made A varible ac poewr supply useing 2 pots
one for ac voltage and another that is used as a governer so little kids cant ever run the trains at a preset voltage

If i used a triac or scr for short circuit protection would that recitify the ac voltage to become more of a dc voltage. the reason why I ask is because, to blow whistls or ring bells yuo send a small dc signal through the ac voltage. Belive it or not those old trains draw up to almost 5 amps! And when you get a short i am shure the amperage you draw is what your transformer pulls. What happend was my old throttle burnt out, so I decited to build my own. It works pretty good, but I cant figure out just how to have relible circuit...

Its just a circuit for a power supply.<p>what I did try was putting a 24 volt light bulb in parallel with my circuit. And when I short the light bulb lights up. But the thing that I dont like aboit it that it draws to much current.<p>I was thinking about varisitors but from what I understand is that...

your right its something like what you described.
but i cannot disconnect it because its a side mount washing machine and and when the machine spins the laundry might fly out, also when the lock is turned on it turns on a relay switch.

just add your ground wire to the conduit,
and if you really want to make shure that your house is grounded correctly
ground your conduit to your water main
