Just a thought, could it be that the water table is lower right now than in the past, requiring more amperage to get the water to the surface? I would also check the motor capacitor.

Re: static charged drink
Dac, I have noticed getting a jolt from my iced tea, but I always thought it was because I mix it with vodka. I might have to go do some research.

Re: is everyone on vacation ?? no activity here since the 19
I'm still around also, I have been on the road for a week watching my daughters team play in the NCAA D-3 Softball World Series. I still try to look in almost every day, but haven't had much to contribute lately.

It was exactly what I thought. I was certain I had no idea why it worked.

Re: LIGHTNING...
I believe a lightning rod has roughly the same electrical potential as a any other object sitting on the earth. It would only "attract" more than, say, a house or barn because of its altitude. The difference is that a well grounded lightning rod will allow the charge to make it to ground s...

Re: Is this forum dying?
I have noticed the reduction in activity, I probably log on at least 3-4 times a week, though I rarely post. I have learned a lot learn a lot from the questions and answers I see presented. I am hopeful it's just a temporary lull. I think we have a lot of good years left here.

Re: Thanks to all who served
JWAX, thanks for your service! My father was Air Force before I was around, but he always spoke fondly of his time in. Might be interesting to start a thread for former military/intel types to say howdy. I was a USCG boat driver. Had a great time and best of all they pay me to not show up. Again, th...

Thanks to all who served
May you all have a happy (and solemn) Memorial Day. Thanks to all of those who served the cause of peace in a military uniform. Dean H I recall was US Navy, and I'm sure there are a lot more former and current members of our military here on the forum. My thanks go to all of you.

need a -5 volt supply
Newer AT style computer power supplies omit the traditional -5volt function (white wire, I believe it was used to power the old ISA slots). Its getting difficult to find any of the older styles, many advertise the -5 in the specs but when I order one to test I find it's not there. I need the -5 volt...

Re: Home Audio Specs
My office is located in a business park with a shop that specializes in car audio. I was talking to the manager who is very knowlegable and very honest with is customers. He introduced me to a new term about these power output ratings when he said many systems are rated "1200 Watts WLS" I ...

Re: is the gate open or closed
Ceasar, you are correct i think. My gate at my last house had a center point latch like you describe and it worked well. I do think I will still try to develop something that will report the gates position, but frankly I have been to busy working to accomplish much to that end. thanks for the contin...

Re: is the gate open or closed
Ceasar, its a double gate, 2 8 foot sections. Right now I don't secure either section, just wrap a piece of chain around the both of them.
