Re: LED light methods

The 0402 don't make much light at all but I have some Kingbright 2.5X2mm smd rated at 2500 mC at 250 mA. That current rating is assuming the case temperature is held within the safe operating area. This will require a heatsink for any length of time over a few seconds, and / or to keep the temperat...

Oops. I was unclear. I use the (oversize) battery in my car. A small 12AH one wouldn't do the instant jump. I have mostly used the jumper cables to start other cars... or trucks. The 2 best ways to avoid needing a jump are: 1. Replace the battery before it is at end of life - 5 years for flooded cel...

most people i know don't want to wait 15 min, they just wanna jump-n-go lol.... That's why I made my jumper cables with 1AWG wire & solid copper clamps. Hook them on & turn the key. Don't even need a battery. I realized that after discovering the dead battery in the car I was jumpin...

One advantage of the flex shaft unit is the motor is significantly bigger - no bogging down, etc. Depending on what you are doing, you have to find a place to lay or hang the motor. I used a cheap motor control / triac phase control for speed control, now use a 25Watt Variac, just because it's nicer...

I have a Dremel model 732 with the model 235 handpiece. 1/5 HP The handpiece is under 3/4" diameter. The flexible shaft to the motor is lighter than the weight of the motor on a "typical" Dremel.

I'm not sure why the 2 different information sources "prefer" the different types. I have worked with circuits that use both sources & sinks.

Power group: Red + BLK - Yel memory/tape eject GRN power ant - NOT 100% sure, never had a power ant. Speaker group: BLU & GRY = 1st Channel BRN & GRN = 2nd Channel To figure out the RCAs, I would connect an AUX input to them (of a receiver or portable "boom box"), see if there is a...

I found it. It's an HPL-118. It has 2 dual RCA leads dangling out. I used 1 pair of them to send the audio to my Fozgate power amp. I don't see a switch for an aux input on it. The built in amps were about 12 Watts/channel, I think. The main knobs were volume & treble, tuning & bass. Balance...

I have a Concord AM/FM/Tape player... Here somewhere. I don't remeber the model number. It sounded great. Best FM reciever / tuner I ever heard. Sad part is the tape head died years ago. The radio still worked.

Along with sealing the box, look into ant bait stations. There is a lot of information about how to deal with ants online. I have had good luck with sugar mixed with a pinch of boric acid. They bring it back to the nest & it kills the queen - essential to control ants. Ants from other colonies w...

#2 The thermostat systems I've seen have only a closure at the thermostat, no real way to get full time power from the wires available at the thermostat. Using a PC to power it would use a noticable amount of power - unless the PC is already on 24/7 for other reasons. For the temp sensor, be sure to...

If they are unregulated, the higher current one will have lower resistance. The rated voltage is given at rated load, so if you use it with a lower current, expect the voltage to be higher. Look up the model of the KVM switch, you might find reference to the power adapter. There are both types aroun...

#1 Running an A/C less than a few minutes would mostly waste electricity. A delay or lockout from restarting too soon is a very good idea. The compressor can't start with backpressure. It takes a few minutes to equalize the pressure in the system. Maximum on isn't really a problem - if it is sized c...

@ Robert Reed: Thank you, that helps also.

Another Q- can they use files generated by Solidworks? I'd rather use what I already am familiar with.
