Re: XP compatibility issue........
sounds like something wrong with the #1 computer and may be fixed by cleaning out and reinstalling windows and such. also, check out openoffice.org, I believe it will open the docx files and is free to download and use.

Re: i need help to deploy a prank.
yea, Ive seen that prank enough times that it's honestly really common. a better prank would be to press printscreen button at the desktop to take a screenshot of the desktop, then open up paint and paste it into there, and save it, then set that pic as your background and right click on the desktop...

Re: Web frameworks
Ive used node.js before with my electronics projects and Ive honestly found it to be a bit of a pain at first. I usually use python with it's web based stuff and javascript for my stuff most of the time, then you dont need to have alot of things installed and dont have to mess with a bunch of files ...

Re: PeoplePC dial up internet
Ive heard alot of bad about peoplePC, but that's just my case. if all fails, you could set it up without the accellerator because very rarely do internet companies actually use the accelerator software anymore due to needing transparent proxy servers with compression, which with alot of people using...

Re: Windows XP Windows 7 32 bit
I use ubuntu 10.04, but it needs a good bit of tweaking, also I use debian wheezy on my other systems. I honestly like the look of gnome2 rather than gnome3 or lxde tho.

Re: Windows XP Windows 7 32 bit
imo, windows 7 and 8 is nothing but useless junk, I eventually just went to linux, then if I need to run a windows program, just install it using wine, runs 10x better than it did on windows in most cases.

Re: Settings for a Graphics Card HELP
check the resolution in the game?
also dont use the drivers that comes with the graphics card itself, always go onto the main site and download the newest drivers.

Re: Dell Dimension DIM 3000
windows 98 can handle up to 2GB of ram, but there's a glitch in 98 that shows the out of memory error with more than 512MB ram, there is a work around for this tho. add this to the [VCache] section of system.ini file, which the file is in C:/Windows folder: MaxFileCache = 524288 then reboot the comp...

Re: outlook express question
I believe in the system menu in start menu, below the control panel, there's a program labeled default programs and settings. click on that and look for the email client, and change it over to your other email client. also, if that doesnt help, you can try looking in firefox under edit, preferences,...

Re: Missing Kernel or corrupted
just a try, but if your running windows xp on the computer that your trying to use to copy the stuff off, there's a trick to gaining administrator access that micro-buggy left open as a backdoor in most xp systems, but log out of the main user, and hold down control + alt + delete until the user til...

Re: Missing Kernel or corrupted
you know how I mentioned bartPE before? I use that all the time with copying files off bc technically it counts the user it runs as, as administrator, so you dont have any permissions errors, and you dont have to remove the harddrive, just boot the laptop or computer with the harddrive in it with th...

Re: outlook express question
I honestly quit using outlook because of all of the issues it had, and eventually went to thunderbird. I love the email filters and such which I could never find in outlook, and runs on any system. (using linux now)
