Re: connecting motors

Mike the TYCO motor sounds like a stepper motor. What were you going to use the motors for? It may help to know.

Re: welder control circuit board

Yes, the wire is running wide open it seems. I peeled away the dip coating on the Q1 to revel this number 2N6388, which has a heat sink. Would this be the right cross-reference for the Q1 here.... NTE Parts ? Or do you think it will help to change it out? There is only one main board and no risers o...

Re: welder control circuit board

Edd, i get wire feed, I just have no control over the speed. The speed control pot is good, I checked it. This leaves the control board. What in your opinion should i try first.

welder control circuit board

the speed control is not working on my Hobart Handler 175A welder. The pot is ok so I am sure something is bad on the board. Hobart part number 195-887. I can't seem to get ahold of a schematic for this. The board was dippped so it's making it really hard to read the chip. I can make out some letter...

Re: Belt vs. chain drives

It all application, application, application. But from what you describe. Would a serpentine drive belt work? It should be able to handle the HP and not slip. Many of these belts in industrial applications have steel belting inside ensuring no stretching. But using this setup will require specific p...

Re: Throw a hairdryer in my bathwater!

I had a friend once that got this bright idea at his fishing cabin once. He wanted to try to float the fish like the old timers did with a generator. Not being able to come up with one, he figured 120vac from an extention cord would work. He separated the wires so he could space them about 8 feet ap...

Re: Pilz ZASD/FFB

After tearing into this relay. All that is wrong with it is the PC mount relay contacts are burned out. It's a MT (Brand?) S3 001 B113 are the only markings on it. I called Digi-Key for a cross reference part but they could not get it. Anyone have a source for PC mount relays? It coil has to handle ...

Re: Latch Circuit

Michael what voltage are you using for your relay? Do you have enough supplied power to toggle to relay? Or will it just not stay latched? As to the schematic from Tommy, here is the quote from that page " This detectors sensor sections is nothing more then some fine wires spaced apart about on...
