My wife and I have a small hobby farm with about 80 acres in north central Minnesota. I was thinking of maybe useing them to power greenhouses or the heater in the shop in the winter....

Re: Reversing Rotation of 115V Table Saw Motor
You would do better by replacing that Chicago Electric motor with something like Dayton. You'll pay a little more now for it but it will last 10X longer. I swear they have small horses in china .
I'm wondering, did the old motor by chance have a start capacitor on it that just went bad?

Re: Ignition Noise
thanks all. Edd the noise is in AM, FM as well as cd playing. It sounds like it comes from all 4 channels from the amp. I will try a few things you all suggested and see where that leads.

it still all boils down to the old rule. You can only convert it, not make it or destroy it. But you gotta love it none the less. :p

Re: Ignition Noise
the pitch changes with the rpm's of the engine. It did not make this noise till i replaced an amp and added a passive crossover. I'm pretty sure it's picking up through the crossover but even teh filter i picked up at radio shack did not get rid of it. If it helps, when the lights are on or the air ...

Re: servo matching
Thanks Don, that clears a little of the air. I did find two boards from an old optocopy camera my company was going to throw in the trash. The board is at MicroKinetics.com . Would these be overkill?

Re: steppers and servo's
I think it was well worth the price. Although i must admit i got it from Barnes and Noble for a lot less. For someone who knows nothing about building a CNC router i think this would help alot. Here are the contents by chapter: 1 Design 2 Electronics 3 Making a printed circuit board 4 Driver assembl...

steppers and servo's
I'm working on a CNC router and need info on servo's and steppers. I have the CNC robotics book by Geoff Williams, But is there a book on the advantages of each? Disadvantages? Wiring diagrams?
