breadboard with pins
I am looking for an electronic breadboard for my elementary school kids that does not require any soldering. At the same time I want to make sure that the wires do not come out easily. I believe one with pins at the end plus some sort of socket. The socket would be to screw in the wires so that they...

Re: How does drill variable speed work?
700 grams at 3000 rpm actually broke loose from my pcb drill. I was lucky as no damage was caused to my body or equipment. K.E. = 1/2 * 0.7 * (3000*(1/60)*0.20)^2 where the circumference of the disc was 20 cm. is 35J/s. How much damage can 35J/s cause?

Re: digital linear actuator
i have this RS340-6489, a digital linear actuator. I just one a screw or a small device to prevent the lead scew from rotating, thus imparting linear motion.

Re: digital linear actuator
What is a set screw. If I screw the load tightly with the load, the load will still turn round and round with the lead screw.

digital linear actuator
I have a digital linear actuator connected to a PC via a DAQ card. It's lead screw rotates when the program is run. I understand that if the lead screw is prevented from rotating, it will impart a linear motion on the lead screw. I have deviced a rather cumbersome apparatus to prevent rotary motion ...

Re: How does drill variable speed work?
Actually I am using the PCB drill in an experiment. Both disc are similiar in size but different in mass. The disc spin vertically, "free wheeling" and are not use for any work normally associated with the PCB drill. I am using the PCB drill because it's stated rpm can go to about 10 000 r...

Re: How does drill variable speed work?
I am using a standard pcb drill. The heavier disc weighs about 700g and the lighter disc weighs 50g. I am using 6V for both to reach maximum speed. I do not have a tachometer to see the rpm. A casual glance appears to show similiar maximum speed. If not, should I increase the voltage of the heavier ...

Re: How does drill variable speed work?
I have done an experiment with my pcb drill with a lighter and heavier disc. I have set the voltage to my pcb drill to 3V. I attach the lighter disc and switch it ON. It moves and I switch off after 10 seconds. Then I attach the heavier disc and switch it on. It does not move. I move it manually and...

Hi,
V=I*R, if V and R is constant, how can I change?

Re: How does drill variable speed work?
I assume "drag" here is the aerodynamic drag. I assumed that the current would be the same. As I = V/R. If the voltage and the resistance is the same, how can current change?

Re: How does drill variable speed work?
I have attached a light disk to a PCB drill. When I switch it ON, it moves instaneously. However if I attached a heavier disk, it does not move when I switch it ON. However with a slight push it moves nicely. Question: Does the maximum speed of the lighter disk equals the heavier disk for the same vo...

Re: 4 phase unipolar stepper motor drive board
For full step should I feed 5V or 0V? I believe 5V TTL is for switching on the full step and 0V TTL is for switching on the half step. Is that right?

4 phase unipolar stepper motor drive board
Hi, I am having some problem with my 4 phase unipolar stepper motor drive board. What does preset mean here? The appropriate data is shown below. Preset Active. For full step mode, Level 0 set motor drive states to 1 and 3 OFF, 2 and 4 ON. For half step mode 1, 2, 3 OFF, 4 ON. Automatic Pres...

12V nominal voltage?
I want to run a stepper motor. The specs say use 12V dc nomimal voltage. What does nominal voltage means? Can I run the stepper on 15V? Is that okay?
