Re: Forget Hydrogen
Most of the inefficiency of a normal internal combustion engine is a consequence of the heat cycle it uses. The working fluid is heated once and discarded. Most of the combustion heat goes with it. Unburned fuel results from the mixture being cooled below combustion temperature by the cylinder walls...

Don’t waste your time with such a petty crime. Bank robbery is much more lucrative.

Re: x10 technology
As far as the x10.com site goes I have had very good service and there tech support has been good as well. They sell units that will use your switch closure to send an x10 signal and a companion unit that has a relay output. There are also units that will put your code on the line if you are a more c...

Re: Do orbiting wires generate?
Whenever a current is generated in a conductor there is a force generated as well. Any force applied to an orbiting spacecraft will effect it's orbit. It's probably a good thing that the conductor loop broke because it would have brought the craft out of orbit in a short time. Again there is no free...

Re: Automobile Inverters
I have a 4000w inverter for that purpose. It won't run my water pump and it causes problems with home electronics. YOu already have a generator that works ok,stick with it.<p>Where I work we bought a sine wave inverter to back up the phone system. Somthing like that would work better in the home as ...

Re: No Deleting Posts
In my case i was doing an experiment of linking a picture . It failed and I wanted to get rid of it. <p>While going through some old information I realized that somthing I had posted some time ago was in error. I searched it out and removed it.<p>The latter case would warrent the e-mail option the f...

Re: Bridgeport Mill Motor Driver
If it is the old kind that mounts on the end of the drive screw and has a reversing lever on top I can mayby help you. The print for it would be the last page of the Bridgeport manual. If i can find a copy i'll send it to you.<p>[ July 18, 2005: Message edited by: josmith ]</p>

Re: pic hosting on web
Some time ago on this forum there was a link to a site that allowed pictures to be stored,no questions no signing up no logging in no time limit. After you loaded your file they gave a list of code options for linking from various sources. (e-mail,auction etc} I was not able to find the post with a ...

Re: Small battery load test.
Alkaline batteries can be tested without a load. Their static volatge reflects there condition. Anything less than 1.3 volts per cell is a throw-away. <p>Carbon cells, usually called "HEAVY DUTY" don't require a tester. There good for nothing when you buy them.

Re: Relatively Compact Power Generation Using Fuel
The early space capsules used hydrogen peroxide to supply breathable oxygen. The shuttle may have had some for the same reason. It can cause skin burns and promote rapid corrosion. I think that NASA overstated the hazard to discourage souvenir hunters.<p>Dreamers just keep on dreaming.<p>[ June 08, 2...

Re: Relatively Compact Power Generation Using Fuel
The cox .15 with a generator would make a small power source . I think that the thread about the self powered lights had plans for a brushless generator made from a stepping motor. With a small battery you'll have a hybrid bike.<p>For all the H2O2 dreamers, peroxide isn't a source of energy. It's no...

Re: Interesting Batteryless Magnetic LED Torch
I just saw a TV offer for a small one and a large one for 20 bucks. With battery powered LED "flashlights" lasting days and battery shelf life extending to years I don't know if the no battery idea is worth it.
