Re: Generator Question
Lenp, The sweet spot is 60 Hz, don't pay any attention to the voltage. Just set the RPM to 60 Hz and your pump will be smiling, A/C motors don't care about voltage as much as frequency thats why the power company guarantee 60Hz and not voltage setting.

I have used one of these machines, what you don’t see is the sensor behind the wheel that go’s between the ground and the lower control arm. The strobe light will flash when the heavy spot on the wheel is straight down (sensor at it’s max down stroke). The strobe makes the wheel look like itâ€...

Joseph, the battery is kaput but if your into storage batteries this would make a great project if you have the time and curiosity. I wonder just how far you can bring back this battery. If the battery is not damaged internally (cell inter connectors corroded away) or completely shorted cells from s...

I know almost nothing about NiMH and Li ion cells, but I have committed my share of lead acid batticide from over charging, over discharging and poisoning. I learned a lot along the way, lead acid batteries are living monsters, they need attention, feeding, watering and exercise to keep them happy. ...

OK, I did my homework For me it isn't about how much I pay, it's where my money go's. I would rather my money go to coal miners, dam builders and natural gas drillers for electric rather than go to oil well drillers. 1 Car - 2 Seats - 3 volume (cu. ft.) 4 Weight - 5 MPG - 6 Watts per Mile - 7 Cost p...

Just for fun, lets run the numbers on how much energy it takes to haul one butt across town with the different energy sources. Please help me out with the math, formulas and ground rules. I did finish 12th grade a long time ago so I need help, if you don't use it you lose it. I think *WATTS* will be...

My home breaker is rated at 200 Amps 220VAC. Is it worth the added expense to quadruple my electrical service for five minutes of 800A surge? I also have a 200 amp service, to fast charge my car I use a dump pack. I slow charge (<20 amps) a stationary pack of batteries (the dump pack) then I connec...

jollyrgr, makes some good points but lets do some what ifs. -It takes three to five hours to charge this battery system. - I have charged a EV battery pack (192 volts) to 80% SOC in less than five minutes at 800 amps. A lot of EVers have found out that you can charge a lead acid battery as fast as y...

Pick up a cheap timing light from the auto parts store to get your clean isolated RPM signal from the pulg wire, this will be a nice easy to read square wave. You can also use another automotive part to pick up the wheel speed, try a wheel speed sensor from any car or truck that has three wire, they...

frhrwa, I live in lost wages also. I have tried several different things to keep the house cool. One of the things I tried was a swamp cooler for most days and then turned on the A/C for the hottest days ( swamp cooler in the shade was a key). In the end I went back to using the A/C and fixed the ho...
