Re: ipod touch with a different OS
The iPod Touch is pretty decent, I've used one before. I have an iPhone and really like it. I jailbroke my iPhone so I could run non apple and unapproved apps, it was easy to do. You can jailbreak iPod Touches just as easily though you may not like your choice of apps that don't come from the Apple ...

Re: ipod touch with a different OS
Edit: Duplicate post, I'm not having much luck getting replies posted on the forum the past few days. The page hangs when a post is long.

Re: How to migrate to a larger hard drive ?
Any Ubuntu Live disc should work, the software version doesn't limit it's use to a certain Ubuntu release. The 7.10 Live CD iso should still be available from te Ubuntu.com website if you would feel better using that version.

Re: Linux question
When you open VMWare and create a new virtual machine for WindowsXP you should be prompted to create a new virtual drive that will automatically be linked to that VM.

Re: Linking Error How to solve??
Can you paste the error message? Without knowing what the error is it's very difficult to try to help you.

Re: How to migrate to a larger hard drive ?
ATTN: This makes no sense but the forum absolutely refused to let me write both of the above entries as one post (It also refused to let me add this). After a few minutes of struggling I tried splitting it to two posts and it worked, go figure.

Re: How to migrate to a larger hard drive ?
The proper procedure would be to run GParted from an Ubuntu Live CD.
The 7.10 disc you likely have should work. The software is on the Live CD by default so all you must do is run it. Once the copy is completed make the new home partition on the new drive, careful not to overwrite or delete the old.

Re: How to migrate to a larger hard drive ?
Sorry I feel like I've been giving you the run around, this isn't a task I normally perform and when I do I use my first mentioned method. I have to put myself in the other chair...

Re: How to migrate to a larger hard drive ?
I still believe copying the old partition is a better solution than a settings migration. I think you'll end up with a more stable system that way. Install gparted, "sudo apt-get install gparted". To use gparted go to System -> Administration -> GParted. Within the program select the 4GB d...

Re: win---.dll pop-up problem
You two may be on to something, google "kodak easyshare error winrnr.dll". Many of the search results seem to relate to malware and viruses but the amount of hits with easyshare and winrnr.dll are enough to raise suspicions of the Kodak software's play nice factor.

Re: win---.dll pop-up problem
If I had to guess it's an infection or due to your RAM upgrade. Was it new RAM? Proper anti-static handling procedures used during installation? I would run a memory test to rule it out if nothing else.

Re: Virus/Internet Protection Software
It's likely due to browsing habits, habits of other users, out of date software, etc... A lot of infections come from visiting sites with malicious intent (or good sites that have been hacked or tricked into displaying malicious ads). Once you send a request for a website the router forwards all rel...

Re: win---.dll pop-up problem
I'll get the typical questions out of the way... Any recent changes? Were you doing anything on the computer when the errors started appearing or did it happen promptly after a reboot? How old is the computer? Have you run CHKDSK? Did the error say "Memory could not be read" and it referen...

Re: Virus/Internet Protection Software
Correct all three software packages I mentioned (Astaro, PfSense, m0n0wall) will wipe your computer, I suggested them only if you had a spare computer with two NICs. Please don't try to install any of them to your production machine. To make a complicated process simple, your ISP assigns you a publi...
