Sorry I don't have time to look further into this, but my first thought was to look at Omega dot com. They have a whole section on flow measurement and control, and SOME of their prices aren't really high. Can't hurt to give it a shot. Best of luck. While I am on here - - Thanks to all the Veterans ...

Hi Al,
I think you can get small qty. materials from McMaster-Carr. They have excellent catalog descriptions now that you know what temps to expect (IF you can trust DacFlyer!!!). Good luck, Dave

By definition the North pole of a magnet will be attracted to the Earth's North pole. This so confused me in grade school science! Seems like they should change one or the other :)

Surprisingly enough... we just tossed suspected failures in the trash. If you knew the guys I work with - - That is quite unusual. They usually will take any excuse to spend days on end dissecting/analyzing/"learning" from these kind of things !!! Maybe someone else has some ideas on what ...

Not sure about these LED's, but the white LED's we use are ESD sensitive. They can show "latent" failures months after installation/ESD event. Doubt this is the case this time, but thought I'd throw in my 2 pennies worth! Dave

Kapton tape should be available in smaller rolls and the proper width. Would it work?

My first electronics project

I hope we get some good ones here! One of my first dabblings in electronics was real simple, but fun for a 7 (or so) year old. I think I saw it in a book. I took a clothespin, wrapped aluminum foil around both sides and put a piece of cardboard with a length of string on it between them. Took apart ...

Follow up. I just went to our parts room and found bottles of GC Bond 10-4302 used for the same purpose. I'm not sure which manufacturer specifies it, but the bottle is marked RoHS. I'll bet it was always lead free, but probably now costs more with the extra labelling :) It might also be a good idea...

Here goes... One of the mfgs that we are an authorized repair station for specifies Glyptal #1209 for their products with a thinner number G-1500 (also Glyptal Brand). We specify Resin Lab part number BM-RED for similar usage. You should be able to find it at resinlab dot com. You should be able to ...

In the aircraft instrument industry we used to use a product called "glyptol", or alternate name of glypt insulating varnish. Another place I worked at used - literally - Red Barn Paint - super heavy insulating paint!!! I am sure that nail polish, or any thick enamel paint would look and p...

SCA was really something! I'm not sure if it is still in use. I built a decoder from an article in Pop. Com (or whichever name it had at the time) to get a new SCA station I had heard about in our area. It was called PRN - Physicians Radio Network. Doctors were buying "special" receivers t...

I use QuickChip quite often, and agree that it is really expensive. If you didn't know - you can re-use it over and over. As soon as I lift an IC off the board, I do the old "sharp tap on the bench" trick, and retain the alloy for further use. It gets weaker as it bonds to the normal solde...
