Pulse Generation
Hello all. I have a question for the experts here.
I need a circuit that can generate a 5V 50ns pulse every 90us
Whats the best way to do this?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Amp Circuit Explanation
I forgot to thank everyone for their input!
Thank you very much! I now have a better understanding what is happening here.
My input conditions are:
The pulse width is 50ns and periodic 90 ms.
The min signal pwr that needs to be detected is 560nA
Again your input is greatly appreciated.

Re: Amp Circuit Explanation
This 3 stage amp has a 1000 x amplification to a IR signal coming in. I'm guessing that the first stage is filter out high frequencies and at the end of each stage has a comparator. That is the best I can think of. I need something that can do this. Hopefully with today IC's this circuit can be simp...

Amp Circuit Explanation
Hello all, I have a circuit that I found on the net and was hoping to get some feedback on it. It is an amplification circuit that can be turned on/off. DET_CH0 is the signal input with 50 impedance. PWR_CH0 turns power on off to the circuit and DET_PULSE_CH0 is the out. Looking at the circuit you c...

Re: Coax Cable/Connector Signal Loss
Thank you Robert for putting my mind at ease. Yes the signal will be digital The total length of the cable wont be longer than 40 feet. I think with what you said I should be ok. I am designing the board that the cables connect to and I included 50 termination and matching. I want to thank you again...

Re: Coax Cable/Connector Signal Loss
What frequency? Very low and low power. ~ 200kH What style connector? I would be using some standard SMA stuff. How long is the cabling? I don't know! I cant make it long if I loose too much of the signal. But if properly installed with proper tools can be much less. I will be getting the proper too...

Coax Cable/Connector Signal Loss
Hello all, I would like to calculate the signal loss in a coax cable and connector. I don't have a particular connector in mind. I was hoping to find an online calculator that would allow me to plug in some numbers to see what the loss would be if I were to use a certain length RG178 cable with some...

Re: 28V BATTERY TO 5V / 3.3V
I have processors on a data bus operating at high speeds. Noise could greatly effect my design.
I was reading this and that is what got me on this subject.

Now i'm reading up on Galvanic isolation. Wow... Getting little overwhelmed.

Re: 28V BATTERY TO 5V / 3.3V
I'm worried about the current surge from the device and the return current messing up my GND.
In these cases I thought there was ways to protect your circuit.

Re: 28V BATTERY TO 5V / 3.3V
Ok, I have a twist to put on this. I have a device that I need to hook up to my embedded design. It will need the 28V input from the battery to run and will need to interface to my micro. The 28V device can draw 1 amp 28W. I am worried now when I activate the 28V device on and off, the current will ...

28V BATTERY TO 5V / 3.3V
Hello everyone. I've been asked to make a widget for one of my buddies. The widget has to go on a vehicle that runs on 28V battery. I need 5V and 3.3V to run what I want to use... micro/GPS/radio. I dont see this design drawing more than 2 Watts. My next step now is to go to Linear's website to play...
