Re: Pissed off with service manual...
Trying to repair a friend's huge expensive TV; its service manual "full version" does not have schematic diagrams : ----> http://www.scribd.com/doc/49812636/Mitsubishi-WD-62525-Service-Manual-full Don't know if this will help, but it seems Sams has a schemaitc.. no telling if its the same...

Re: Peanut Butter Jar Monster Detector
Another photo of this project as I continue to breadboard it. This one is a test of speaker #2 and one of the two green LEDs. I've learned not to expect tinned, stranded wire to connect to a breadboard hole. It's better to use solid wire. My next step is to install the green LED into the scan head....

Re: Sep 2011: Upgrading the BOE-BOT Part 1 - William Henning
You talked about the roboprop Library in your article, but I can not find any reference to it in the Servo download area or in the Mikronauts site. I did a bit of digging and found it here: http://mikronauts.com/roboprop and mentioned here as well: Link to Parallax Forum Hope this helps. Ve...

Re: where do I find?
Looks like the new forum layout is more dedicated to SERVO and robotics now. FWIW, the new design is aimed at making the magazines (both Nuts & Volts and SERVO) tie in more closely with the forums. Of course, we're always open to suggestions so if you would like to see some changes please feel ...

Re: Peanut Butter Jar Monster Detector
Vern, I have a question about shorting R3 on the Radio Shack sound module. Does this mean: remove the existing resistor R3 on that module, solder a wire in it's place, and connect that to a 100K resistor which is in turn connected to the "P3" pin on the Basic Stamp 1 module? No, the idea ...

Simple Pill Bottle Pushbutton Trigger
As Halloween is approaching, you may find yourself in need of a simple hand-help pushbutton trigger. I put up a web site the shows step by step how to make them. The site is here: http://www.spiderspreyground.com/howto/pill.html And here's a few pics to give you an idea of what we're talking about: ...

Re: Peanut Butter Jar Monster Detector
I got my pushbutton ( All Electronics LPS-1R ) today and I am trying to understand the meaning of the 5 connectors on it and how you configured it specifically. Based on reading your article again, and trying to match wire colors with the connections I can see on the "extra pictures" Pica...

Re: Starting a project
I'd stay right here. All the other new Forum sections are for specific columns in the 2 magazines. Unless you want to start a project featured in the magazine, this still seems to be the best section to post in. Actually, we do have a section devoted to reader projects right here: Reader Projects I...

What job does the tire hub do? Is it just an appearance item? I apologize again for the slow response. I'm glad you found the video useful. I never did get around to doing a video of the actual finished product, But hopefully you can deduce its operation from the video. As for the "Tire Hub&qu...

Re: Peanut Butter Jar Monster Detector
Regarding the servo to use. I have a GWS S03N 2BB http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/693/specs and a Hextronik HXT900 "9GR Servo" which is quite a bit smaller than the GWS. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__662__HXT900_9g_1_6kg_12sec_Micro_Servo.html Do you think one of these ...

Re: Missing Sticky Posts
Well, I thought that the one that showed how to make the links stand out ("Finally Beat the Board at the Underlining of Links") would be something that is useful as the board still doesn't underline them (at least the coloring of the links is a bit easier to see). CeaSaR Good Point, in fa...

Re: Missing Sticky Posts
I noticed that a few of the "stickies" that were up at the top of the list are missing. Any idea where they went? CeaSaR Some of those were pretty old and so they were "released" from sticky status. Was there one in particular you needed? I can dig up a link for you most likely....

Re: Peanut Butter Jar Monster Detector
This question is for Vern Graner, who wrote an excellent article on a Peanut Butter Jar Monster Detector in a past issue of Nuts & Volts. I have an infant granddaughter now and I would like to build the monster detector for her. Do you have any suggestions for me based on your experience with t...

Re: "see-saw" pot output (beginner's question)
I haven't actually attempted this yet. I'm not exactly sure where to start. I'd like to have a circuit with a single potentiometer that drives 2 outputs operating like a "see-saw". so as i adjust the pot "up," one output increases in voltage as the other decreases and vice versa...
