Re: Simulated Candle Flame

This is a simple solution that works fairly well. Connect 2 reqular flashing LED's in parallel, and the parallel pair in series with an orange LED. When power is first applied the orange LED will flash on and off. When the two flashing LED's get out of sync with each other the orange will flicker li...

Re: CD-R and CD-RW

T%hanks gentlemen for you input. Since I donot have a CD burner on my computer, and my computer is an antique(pentium 100)by some standards, getting CD burner would be a problem I looked at my options. I could buy a stand alone CD recorder or the thought came to my mind that I could record these rec...

CD-R and CD-RW

I want to record my LP records on CD's but I do not know the difference between CD's. I seen in the stores CD-R and CD-RW. Which is best for my purpose and why? I also plan to label them with computer generated labels. Do the labels go on the top surface? This brings up a new question in my mind. Ar...

Re: ac grid sensor needed

Max, The simplest way I can think of is to connect a 120 Volt ac relay coil to the power line. Use the NC (normally closed )contacts as a switch wired is series with the 9V battery and the solid state buzzer. <p>As long as the relay has line power applied the contacts are open, like a switch in the ...

Re: Caps

In simple terms, the capacitor opposes a change in voltage. If the applied voltage to the capacitor increases the capacitor will charge to the new applied voltage. If the applied voltage decreases, the capacitor will discharge and doing so will try to keep the voltage constant. That is what happens ...

Re: thin metal welder

I assume you want to spot weld tabs to NI-CAD or NI-MH batteries. I do not have a schematic, but have use them for a number of years and know how they work. They are essentially a low voltage high current AC transformer. The electrods are generally at an angle and pointed at each other. The transfor...

Re: Question about a Headlight modulator schematic

I don't know if the oscillator is right, but the schematic shows a pair of N channel MOSFETS, in parallel. As I recall the Drain has to be positive and the source Negative. It appears as the circuit is to essentially turn on the lamp or turn off the lamp the circuit is in series with. The way I see ...
