Re: Laptop Redesign
I was thinking more along the lines of a laptop over-clocking project. I see what you mean on the wire harness. That emulator cable is a nice piece of work. As always, I sure appreciate the replies. I really haven't seen any overclock/cooling solutions for laptops while maintaining case integrity. S...

Laptop Redesign
Greetings, I was wondering how feasible this concept would be. The idea is to take the cpu out of a laptop and mount it on the backside of the lcd. Removing the cpu from inside of the laptop would remove most of the heat from within the laptop. Rather than design a system around a case I was thinkin...

Re: Demise of telephone landline
Perhaps we can think of the copper pair in a new way. Don't know of too many homes that even utilize them anymore with the advent of the cell networks. But they can still carry current. low voltage emergency lighting during storms, ect perhaps. I am confident the gurus here can come up with a millio...

The forums are extremely active and the Engineer who runs the site has uploaded somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 videos. Everything from tearing down ...

Re: another new site.. interesting..
The eevblog site has this Australian fellow who is very knowledgeable and entertaining. Only been cruising that site for a few days, but I feel a renewed interest in electronics. He has these videos in which people mail him items from all around the world, and he tears them down to show the componen...

Re: this site is fizzling out fast....
I for one, am always looking to learn from the pro's. Born in 68, and still sit in awe from the old timers. Never owned a cell phone or a TV, but I get a bunch from folks throwing them away in the dumpster. taking them apart is the ultimate joy. I save extra money to get good equipment like Fluke an...
