Quick Tip, Send the document off to the local Staples Print Center. They can print almost any reasonable size, quickly and not too expensive. You can even send the document via the net to save one trip. We were going to invest in a plotter but considering the dry/dead cartridge issues related to inf...

Quick note Anybody remember the Alco FRE-103 series of 'isolation relays'? It was a 120V plug-in cube, with a NO/NC outlet and a pair of pins for the control. It was, in effect, a low voltage transformer/relay but it was all done in one assembly. It was a a two coil assembly, with a box like laminat...

geb, I think this is the minimum you can get away with to do your push on/push control with a 'simple' switch. These work with a solenoid coil that operates microswitches via a clever toggling cam. A quick search on line, turned these up. They are (were) made made by PB and I used them in the past f...

Steve, I guess the real issue is that PicAxe appears not to support arrays, and some references to the I/O structure must be 'labels' and do not support variables. If pinX statement could be assigned to an array, or if it accepted a variable then it could be tested in a loop. Many commands will acce...

NM I am currently involved with 3 projects and am using the PicAxe chips. I also started years ago with Parallax but now they, for the most part, gather dust! Yes, I know there will be a slam from some programming pundit that preaches that all programs must be in 'C' or whatever non-human language i...

Hi NM I think a low end processor, a few lines of code, driver transistors and relays would make t all happen. If you prefer solder logic, the old standby 555 would get the job done. Put them in series so A triggers B and so on. Also commercial time delay relays are available that could be connected...

PICAXE CODE?
It appears that some commands in the PicAxe (and others) dialect will not accept variables, since they are 'reserved' For Example THIS WORKS For b0=1 to 5 High b0 Next THIS DOES NOT For b0=1 to 5 IF PIN b0=1 THEN...... Next The program needs to determine the status of 15 individual inputs, in 2 diff...

Numbers
Anyone that has been around this 'business' will probably know what these numbers are related to, but, what was the rationale that created them?

XBee?
I just ordered some XBee \ XBee Pro evaluation modules for a new design project. Anyone out there with hands-on experience that wants to toss in comment is certainly welcome. They will be married to Pic processors.

Mr Al, I've been using Press-n-Peel since it was released, and with dependable and repeatable success. There are a few pitfalls I've run into and they all can be resolved easily. We tried the paper/toner route and it does work, but the added layer of film from the PnP makes for a better finish and a...

Hey guys! There are lots of ideas, and some may be considered as an alternative. I think the CNC panels are nice but unless the cost comes down, they might not be viable for many builders. I do remember years ago there was a chemical etch system. I think it used a coated aluminum panel. Anybody ever...

More of the same
Tag me onto this post as having several Moto 'Bag' phones as well as others that are headed for the deep six if nobody speaks up soon!
Pay the postage it's yours.
Anybody thought about hacking these obsolete phones to do something else? Maybe flashing fishing lures?
