Re: Solar panel sleight of hand
thanks terri- As you may note, I made no personal reference to anyone here- so you can stop taking things I said personally. The 'you' I used was intended for each individual reading this thread... as an invitation to act (!) on your own personal level.
Your reference to nuclear.. especially Fusio...

Re: A practical solar panel installation cost analysis
The largest rooftop installation I've seen is in NYC... Varick St., If I Recall.
Roofs in NYC are genrally flat asphalt.. this is, too. The cells were mounted on steel supports angled to the sun. I assume (from my vantage point) that the whole support frame was elevated to allow roof maintenance.....

The elevator call buttons were activated by (either) capacitance change or heat. When the NYFD responded, the elevat...

Some cool ideas... some not. But it call to mind my (late) great-uncle. A great handiman, machinist and tinkerer... what farmer isn't?
In his eulogy, his nephew recalled, "Then there was the time back in the 60's, I drove up to his house. And there he was, sitting in his living room, mowing t...

hey- I can appreciate your custom-size problem ... but PP containers are plentiful... as are 1 gallon buckets.
Just that: I'd recommend Anyone working with etchants be CERTAIN to make/find a container that's LEAKPROOF! Cement can hold for a long while... then fail. And plastic stress-cracking is ...

OK Ian- point taken! But it's certainly better than the Ford!
Still - I think this thread is DEAD.
That said, time to put your money where your true beliefs are: I for one, own a crumb of GE... their next (to be publicized) venture is high-efficiency coal combustion for turbine power generation....
