Fuse problems
I realize this is grasping at a straw but during a power company low voltage spurt, my TV blew the fuse on the low voltage side of the power supply. It is a Zenith model #C32V22. It's a 32". I tried the Zenith web site and couldn't get into the schematic because of the $45 membership. The fuse ...

Re: Really neat sch/pcb layout program
Can't edit my answer-- The last line was supposed to say "many years ago I had training wheels on my bike and I thought they were pretty neat also, but I also bought a "Flowbie".

Re: Really neat sch/pcb layout program
Thanks for all the replies and opinions. Most of you sound like you are quite a couple steps ahead of me. Until I read the replies (honestly) I thought "Gerber" was a baby food. Iv'e never had a pcb MADE for me, as everything I do is on perf board.
I make a lot of different "one sho...

Really neat sch/pcb layout program
I've tried a bunch of different cad programs for drawing schematics and this one beats most all them in in the "EASY TO USE" catagory. It does regular schematics AND PCB board layouts.
It is very complete, and best of all, it is totally FREE. No trial period or slimmed down basic nothing...

Relay ladder logic program
I need a program to take the place of having to "hand draw" an electrical schematic that is 90% relay ladder logic.
I've tried "Eagle" and it is more for printed ckts.
I've tried Smart cad and a lot of others like it. I want something that has relay contacts, relay coils, pus...

Calculating relay coil current
I think I am doing this right but before soldering I want to check.
I have a 24vdc relay. The coil measures 1.052K ohms. Using Ohms law I come up with a coil that will draw 22ma. Right?
Same question - different relay. 9vdc. relay, and the coil measures 211 ohms. I come up with 42 ma. Right?
T...

Re: Sequential LED flasher modification
WORKS GREAT!! Using the 3 pin LEDs, a 556 as an astable multivibrator, and two 4017s, and using two different sets of capacitors and resistors for the timing seq. I now have a green sequence that repeats about every 3/4 second and a red sequence that repeats about every 2 seconds, at the discretion ...

Re: Sequential LED flasher modification
Upon reading a little deeper, I've decided to go with 3 lead LEDs.
Again ~ thanks.

Re: Sequential LED flasher modification
NE5U and Philba: Thanks for all the advice. As to what type of LEDs I have ~ a little of this and a whole lot of what my wife refers to as (you get the idea) I will buy all identical LEDs for the final "no more smoke project". I have some of the 3 lead ones and more of the 2 lead ones. 2 l...

Sequential LED flasher modification
I'm not an expert, but rather an experimentor. I built a 10 led sequential flasher (only one lit at a time) and works great. I used a 555 for the clock and a 4017 CMOS IC. What I want to do is use bi-colored LEDs and use another 555 and 4017 to make (at my discretion with a switch) change from red t...

Re: LED current indicator
A current transformer is a wound coil with no center (like a doughnut), thru which the current carying conductor passes thru. The coil then inducts a voltage from the wire. the higher the amperage, the higher the voltage from the coil. (or basically something like that). Electric meters on your hous...

LED current indicator
I want to build (not buy) a current indicator scale. The idea I have is to have 10 or 12 led's lined up with the first 6 or so green, a couple yellows, and finally a red or two. The purpose is to measure amperage on a 120 vac circuit from 1 to 20 amps. As the current increases so would the amount of...
