i would use a a 30 amp or better bridge rectifier hooked up to to a variac. with a 15 second duty cycle. a ten amp variac would do, you will have to re fuse it,if you forget to turn it off, it will fry, and set the voltage before you connect it (do not adjust it under load). Better yet get a 25 amp ...

12/1000=.012amps or 12 ma. thats eniugh to light a led, if it changes the temperature of the nichrome wire a measurable amount i would be very surprised, but you cant go wrong by testing the circut.

if you wire a led in series with a 1k resistor across each switch, (minding the polarity), the led will light if there is contunity.

Last time i tried it it lit up a red led up pretty bright. I hooked up a red led polorized one way and a green one the other, turn it one way green other way = green. My guess at that speed about 25 ma 2v or there abuot.

hi Mike.
One interisting thing these stepper motors do is to make low speed generators. Try connectong a led to them using various combinations of wire connections. It may surprise you.

solar cell reverse current

simple question:
When no light is activating a solar cell, it has reverse current flow. Does that current get converted to light, heat, orsomething else?

do a google search on motor start caps. I ordered some from a company and they were about 1/3 the price the local guys could come up with.

maxium makes a high side mosfet driver chip. i forgot the number but it should be on thier website

There are several low cost vom.s available that have frequency counters in them for 50 or so bucks.I got one from radio shack.
