Look up a couple of posts. Dave Dixon posted a link to the Snopes. It's a real display and Snopes has links to the controller mfg. The software is free. The hardware... isn't

Yeah but... Somewhere back there someone mentioned using solar energy to power the leds. Also, as the post author mentioned, plants like a specific temperature range of light. From what I've read the flourescent tubes would have to be replaced at least every 6 months (cathode decay?). Interesting si...

I made a little strip of 9 red and 9 blue led's (alternated red and blue in groups of 3) for just this purpose (growing plants in the winter). I never have tried it on plants but the theory seemed valid. The one thing that I don't quit get is how to calculate the light energy requirement of a plant....
