I can use both the resistors and the xtals.
I have an especially keen interest in the resistors though... I'm doing some research work using instrumentational amplifiers that require 0.1% or better resistors.

Re: Parabolic Microphone
What sort of pattern do you have your mics arranged in? I see that you said "circular" but... can you post an image describing the array?
I see that you suggested using a telescope focuser, but without having seen the array f mics, I'm having trouble picturing your scheme.
b.t.w. -- Wh...

Re: Parabolic Microphone
The point of an adaptive filter is that it automatically adjusts the filter parameters to filter out the portion of the measured signal that correlates with the noise signal.
This is often desirable over a static filter because it can filter out many types of noise, as well as noise that may exist...

Re: Parabolic Microphone
Aren't the 18" dishes somewhat oval in shape?
And b.t.w. I was thinking that you may get a great deal of gain by attempting to filter out other noises. An adaptive filter is the most effective approach I know of when the noise is measurable, but cannot be characterized.
With a parabolic dis...

Re: CMOS and BIOS
CMOS refers to a semiconductor device utilizing Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFET). Older chips used Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJT) and were known as TTL.
BIOS refers to a computer's Basic Input Output System (BIOS). The BIOS is a set of low-lovel instructions the comp...

I've designed a board that my lab uses with Microchip's ICD. It's for the 16f876. I can send you the artwork if you'd like.

Re: dusk switch adjustable sensitivity...
This seems like an ideal circuit for hysteresis. The use of a schmidt trigger would guarantee instant switch between on/off states. I much prefer to make a schmidt trigger from an opAmp than use on with preset hysteresis. This can be accomplished by using a resistor divider on the non-inverting inpu...

Re: implementing finite state machines with PICs
I've done a fair amount of state machines in CPLDs. I use a state register and some combinational logic to determine the next state.
In a microcontroller solution, This may not be as efficient as using an if-else-if of switch architecture. Within the execution of each state, the next state is load...

If I weren't out of town right now, I'd have a Sensory board on the way... No I don't have any experience with them, but If you go here, you'll find the page on which I first saw the board. It's a voice activated alarm system.

Re: Need circuit designed and built
I am a student at a university working on a design that is to be integrating with existing RF silicon. We are relatively new at chip design, but have some contacts that will make the transformation from the PLD stage to ASIC. There are other universities that have their very own IC fabrication equip...
