Re: physics ?

I think the bond angle in liquid water H^H should tighten while as it approaches steam. The surfaces between H2O molecules are weaker and become more distant. The contracting trilobal entities on the surface would be tighter and more pronounced at so thermal conductivity exchanges exo away from the ...

Re: InfraRed to Radio Waves

You can break it down 1. IR photo diode reciever 2. an fm transmitter
the IR reciever output goes into the transmitter input or replaces the microphone and audio amplifier of the fm transmitter.
Remotes that use IR ie television, vcr, stereo, can operate on the same band but on different frequen...

Re: Wall warts

I have wondered about this as some warts can select 120 or 220. In the states we are mostly familiar with 120 and 220 is usually a big kitchen appliance or clothes dryer or welder on a heavy duty circuit.
So giving advise in general would need to include the rating, how well it was made possibly t...

Re: Novel high voltage source

Ok thankyou for your feedback on this idea. I think this idea has'nt been explored fully, As it stands it is only demonstrating an arc but if it was designed to produce more current and converts voltage to AC continuously instead of DC discharging every 20 seconds it might have some promise on a lar...

Re: amp meter shunts

Measuring small values of current less than 10uA is often prone to error because of static and lead length and other obsticles unfortunetly, but not impossible to overcome.
When a sensitive meter is installed into it's circuit, enclosure and all the precautions are employed the meter can usually ...

Re: Hold reading on LCD meter readout

Darkness testing uses sample and hold. At times there can arise a situation where a very small value of light needs to be measured and requires special rigging. I recall using a black cloth and wearing a black T-shirt draping this cloth over my head like the old fashioned photographers and exposing ...

In this example an electricity is generated from ordinary water.
When I pulled an acrylic sweater out of the dryer I was wondering if low voltage generating is'nt a mindset that we have because we mostly use use fuel to convert mechanical energy in effect we have almost exclusively been cutting ma...

Re: AC to DC using a full bridge rectifier

Hello, Re: which capacitor can I use ? The electrolytic capacitor can be what you can find and 470 uf or maybe 1000 uF have been popular if you later find you need more filtering then you could simply change or add another capacitor across the supply line.
Re: where does the electrolytic capacito...

I would like to retract my comment regarding positive efforts of teaching electronics and it's state of affairs. I am reminded to be more careful not to post opinions that could bring up difficulties. I am truly sorry.
[ May 18, 2003: Message edited by: dimbulb ]

Re: LED Taillight bulbs

Leds are very immune to that sort of failure both corrosive and brittle filament. It is nice if the unit is sealed up from moisture. Care with wires can help. I never did understand why some of the best fisherman have the worst wiring. But they do know when the fish are biting. Sometimes knowing whe...
