Re: Any adjustable voltage regulator ?...

What choices do you have for your power supply? Wall warts, batteries, or on board with 110AC? If batteries - a piece of cake. On-board PS with 110 - another piece of cake. Otherwise - do you have room for something like the MAX739. It doesn't take many external components and handles .3 Amp. good l...

Re: Any adjustable voltage regulator ?...

Cant' think of any off hand. Is there room available to make a -1.5 volt rail? If you are using batteries, just pick off midstream for ground? Or else I think Maxim makes some IC's to get a negative supply. Sorry I wasn't more help.

Re: 28V BATTERY TO 5V / 3.3V

Hi Tony, I'm sure this is obvious, but it's always best not to assume. An in-line fuse or equivalent short circuit protection. In the past, I have skipped that step for what I thought was "just for the time being - I'll add it later" with bad results from waiting too long to add the proper...

Re: timed outlets anyone?

Not very cheap, but I have used MAGNECRAFT - 821TD10H-UNI multifunction timers in some test equipment. Probably over the top for your use. 0.2% accuracy and settable from 0.1 second to 10 days!!!!! Also has a ton of switching options i.e. on delay, off delay, one shot, repeat cycle, and more. Really...

Re: Remote Control Signals, Info?

Hi Al, I'm not sure if you are interested, but others lurking out there may be! I had a minute to kill this afternoon. Lights off and used my cheap digital camera set to movie mode. Macro setting and focused on the Infra-red LED and recorded while I pressed a few buttons on the remote. The video cam...

Re: Remote Control Signals, Info?

Couch Potato had some excellent info. Thanks, I learned something new this morning! A cheap way to "view" your remote control's output is to use any ole' digital camera with a viewscreen. The IR shows up nicely. At least it is a good method to see if it is operational or not. I never tried...

Re: intermittent wiper control

Da*n you Dean, Now I have to go out to the shed and dig through my boxes of "stuff". I built that shortwave converter installed into an old old car radio - car radio for the better signal rejection, and it worked great. A little bit later I added an SCA decoder to the same box, which worke...

Re: intermittent wiper control

Excellent movie. I just saw it last weekend. When he was in his garage/basement I was telling the wife... "a capacitor, a variable resistor, and a transistor". . . Within 60 seconds, I heard him say the same thing! It is a shame that I probably couldn't have stuck it out all those years fi...

Re: single sided PCB, where?

Thanks Bigglez, Not enough time in the day for me to check, but that is good info to have!

I shipped it off today to Volter- $1.85 is my cost for the shipping. A buck for my time (handling) isn't expected, but would be greatly appreciated! Best of luck,
Dave

Re: single sided PCB, where?

I have a piece of scrap single sided, approx. 8" X 8" X 0.062" material. I think it is 1/2 Oz copper clad, but it may be 1 Oz (not sure how to easily check the copper thickness). Email me with your location, and if you want to pay shipping, and throw an extra one dollar in for me ship...
