Re: Kronos Flyer Series

The motors and props used will support a gopro and FPV transmitter. While I have run the DJI gopro 3 gimbal on a kronosflyer it does not have the extra power you may want. I like running 5000 4cell on FPV systems. Here is a hex I use for FPV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esxRBwFwrVo You can add l...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

A quad should always be balanced dead center of the motors. A NAZA or APM can compensate for a lot of out of balance.

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Their are a couple reasons the connector is getting hot enough to melt. 1. You are pulling too much current. 2. You have a bad connection somewhere. Get a battery tester that will allow you to monitor the load on the battery while its running. I have one I got from hobbyking. It shows voltage/load/w...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Yes, I still like the DT700 motors. Check out your various local hobby stores. The Hobby Hanger near me sells props for planes and I purchase both the CR and CCR props from them. HobbyKing USwarehouse sells a set of 1045 props for quads. http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__1236__1233__Multi_Rotor...

Re: MF70 CNC Conversion

Yes I use the latest version of mach 3 and the plug-in. You will also need to install the smooth stepper drivers. I always recommend the parallel port if you can get hold of a mother board or machine that has one. They make hookup simple and somewhat fool proof. USB ports do not work for controlling...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Run the motors without props to see if any of them vibrate excessively. Also after a crash you should look at the balance of each prop.

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Look into my FRMP system. These add a isolation platform to the quad with the battery mounted on top. This way its very easy to better secure the battery. The battery mounted on top also keeps the isolation platform from vibrating.

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Add something to the front and back to keep the battery from sliding. In addition I have used two wraps for redundancy. I have a very large hex based on the same construction and use a 4 cell 5000 battery. The battery is almost as heavy as the craft. Any shifting can be disastrous. As for the quad. ...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Thanks for getting back with us. I hope this helps others with their build. Honestly I have a drone book about half done and most likely wont be including the Turnigy as they keep changing the firmware.

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

The pitch curve I mention when setting up the Turnigy 9X transmitter has nothing to do with the throttle control. It is used only to cheat our way into controlling the mode selector switch. If the prop idle speed is so high that it wants to lift your craft into the air it can be one of the following...

Re: MF70 CNC Conversion

I wont be covering it in this series. It is involved enough that It would need a series of its own. The MF70 is certainly well suited for making small PCB boards. You need to use a V-bit and they are not readily available for a 1/8" collet unless you order them from a specialist company like Pr...
