Usually done by tapping into AGC circuitry- but again, you will need schematic.

Re: Another transformer question... ( trivia question)
AC- looks like you are good to go. And especially, if its just sine wave to sine wave, VA will hardly be a factor.

Re: Another transformer question... ( trivia question)
Should be looked at as VA and not watts. Is the secondary load pure AC or DC? If DC with capacitor input filter, the load current will have to be reduced quite a bit. Worst case is with full wave bridges and depending on the setup could reduce allowable current to 50% as compared to a pure AC load.

Re: HP printer deskjet 9300 issue
I had installed Windows 7 in my computer several months ago and my older (but excellent) HP printer would not work any more. This one worked from a install disc that came with it. Win 7 wants internet access to control the computer and will not accept the startup disc. Went on forums and such to fig...

Re: Circuitboard construction
Thanx for the replys fellows. In reading thru all the threads, I am now a little reluctant to try glue products. The overall board is only2.5" by 3.0", so I may just stick with double sided board and grind away one side to all but the strip desired. There will be 8 SMD components to solder...

Circuitboard construction
I need to install a 50 ohm strip line on the resin side of a single clad circuit board. This piece of foil will be approximately 3" long and 1/8" wide and ultimately sectioned off for SMD components. I have never attempted a glue down line and wondering if there is any suitable adhesive th...

Re: Schematic diagram for Tektronix probe, please ?
Hi Externet I might be missing some thing here, but as stated before - the level difference when adding the unknown load (tuner) had a 3db drop which would exactly indicate double terminating of the 50 ohm source Z , hence unknown Z would be 50 ohm. Again, will only be reliable in a perfect test set...

Hello Externet Robert Reed wrote: Are you trying to measure the input impedance of the tuner which we would assume to be 75 ohm. I probably should have phrased this as THEY WOULD ASSUME and not WE WOULD ASSUME. I agree with you that stated impedances probably vary quite a bit especially in wide band...

Re: Schematic diagram for Tektronix probe, please ?
Are you trying to measure the input impedance of the tuner which we would assume to be 75 ohm. I think you had a posting a while back about trying to do this, but if I remember right you did not have top of the line equipment as you show in the photos. If I am reading this right - you show a 1.5 db ...

Re: Audio Power Amplifier -- "Electronics" magazine (McGraw-
Can't help you with the magazine Dean, but I have come across several published designs in the past few years ( EDN mag I think) that use that same OP-Amp design. They used 20-30 ohms as their load resistors and I have never heard a good theoretical discussion about using that "twist". Poi...

And to add- from my tests, the typical fan motors I have tested uses 13,20 & 27 watts for lo, mid and hi speed. So if one would want 60W bulbs-never turn the fan on- just use it for a ceiling fixture to give adequate lighting when inserting your cel phone into the Microwave Oven

Got ink-No Printer!
While setting up my old printer for cartridge replacement, it some how went up in smoke from a burnt out driver motor. Now I have three brand new cartridges and no place to put them. These are remanufactured by 1ink.com. I have used their products for two years now and they are of very high quality....

Re: TV Repair musing
As to SAMS Manuals and old tube type TVs, etc. I do a lot of electronic oriented research on the web at times, and many times the websites direct me to various forums. I am blown away by the specific interests in some of these forums that dwell on old consumer electronics repair and restoration. App...
