is MPLAB for Linux available?

I am interested in trying out some PIC experiments. Is MPLAB, the free aids for the PIC family, available that will run on Linux or must I stick to the Windows version?

Re: What Has Happened To The Forum?

Maybe I'm in the minority but I LIKE THE NEW FORMAT . It is easy to read and pleasant on the eyes.

I have an older Gateway computer which I have installed a new operationg system on. I put Ubuntu V8.04 (a linux system) on it. The mother board uses American Megatrends Inc. I want to thank you all for your help. I solved my problem a little differently as I was to impatient to wait for all your good advice. I found an old floppy that had come with an old hard drive and used it to partition my big disk into two small partitions and then loaded Ubunto successfully. Now I...

I think I jumped from the frying pan into the fire. Since I wanted a larger capacity disk, I went out and bought a 320 GB as it was on sale for $79. Ubuntu installed on it just fine but now it won't boot from the hard disk, I get "ERROR 18" which I think means the partition the boot record...

Problem replacing a failed hard disk

I have an older computer on which I had installed Ubuntu, a form of Linux. Yesterday, the hard drive failed. I had an older hard drive on the shelf I had taken out of an old computer. I swapped it with the failed one (both Western Digital Pata). Using a Windows boot disk, after changing the BIOS to b...

Were there any NiCad batteries stored in the same vicinity? NiCads in storage near metal objects, especially wet cell NiCads, will cause this white coating. In order for the sealed NiCads to cause this they must be leaking a bit. As NiCads age, there is always a little leaking around the seals.

Like Mr. Al said above, NiCad are still the better choice in this case. In general, NiCads are much more resistant to abuse. They will also last twice as long (no. charge/discharge cycles) as NiMh and withstand overcharge and deep discharge with less chance of damage. The only advantage NiMh has ove...

The fuse is 0.15 inch in diam. and 0.8 inches long and in a typical fuse holder (two U shaped clips at each end of the holder) and the fuse appears to be a white ceramic body. I could just wire in a 6 amp slow blow fuse using a different fuse holder. If I can't locate the proper one, I'll try that. ...

T6.3 fuse, characteristics??

I am modifiying an old computer power supply to simply have a source for 5 and 12 volts DC on the bench. Simply hooking up the proper leads (yellow for +12V and red for +5V) to a terminal block and loading the 5V line with a 5 ohm 20 Watt resistor. In the process, I managed to blow the fuse, marked ...

Mr. Al, what they mean when they say compatable to all radio types is that the signals from the receiver to the servos is pretty much standard. There are some variation is connectors but, again, most are interchangeable. On the Futaba's, you may have to shave off the little key tab to enable them to...

I use these RC servos all the time. All popular current designs (Futaba, Airtronics, JR, Tower etc.) all use 1.5 millisecond pulse as center with .5 milliseconds as one end and 3 milliseconds at the other end. Rep rate can vary from 15 to 50 milliseconds. The output to the servo is a DC positive goi...

Frank_fg, in looking over your circuit, I am surprised to not see a jumper or connection between pins 6 and 7 on the last LM555. There should be one even if it doesn't show up on the schematic as I do not think the circuit will work without that connection.
