hello all, for the flatbed plotter hing: been there, done that. does not work well. The whole setup is very simple (put the right pen in, put the blank board in, start plot etc) but the etchresist ink in combination with the blank copper does not work well. Did you ever try a sharpie on metal? smear...

hi, i once worked with an automotive pulse relay from siemens that did just this. pulse-on pulse-off. if I could only remember the type.... it was an automotive high-amps relay spdt for 12VDC in a metal casing. The mechanical outline was like a normal auto relay, the kind you use for headlight switc...

why bother? use the laserprinter method instead! works a charm, is cheap and not many tools needed. google 'gooteepc' and you'll find info!

rant
please READ my posting instead of RANTING like a raving lunatic. OF COURSE i'm not saying we are getting more power out of something than we put in... duh!!! I say: use free power when possible, and use cheap power when not. I must say the prices calculated prove i'm right. Furthermore: A car does N...

the cost of compressed air
@chris: I beg to differ. The MDI car costs about 10k$ and for the compressed air: As it is fairly simple to have an offline compressor around your house that is compressing air for you while you are not driving, and as it is also simple to power this compressor by solar cells and/or windmill I do no...

some small math...
so here goes my 'adiabatic' remark ;-) BUT when a tank gives us 54MJ of energy, and the average 'push' necessary for this car is about 500N (my estimate...your mileage may vary) then follwing W=Fxs (work is force times distance) gives us a distance of 54e6/500=108000 meters or 108 kilometers... pret...

now for some other opinion
dear all, I think the real issue here is that no-one can do all this math (were not clever enough), i for me can not do all this but: - the specs are: http://www.mdi.lu/eng/affiche_eng.php?page=minicats - The engine will NEVER output 25HP at all times!! only when accelerating! - The piston/crankshaf...
