Re: New LED TV's

Does it use the Canon/Hitachi SED technology?

I was really looking forward to those sets, until they had the marketing squabble wihtin the consortium, and of course production difficulties with anything less than 40" screens.

Re: What is the difference between a bot and a spi

Hi, Hey i was just thinking, would you like this subject in "Computers" better? More people may notice it there...just a thought. I ummed and aahed as to where to put the post and then thought as it dealt with the board rather than computers, I'd post it in general. But I can move it if y...

Re: What is the difference between a bot and a spider?

Thanks for the explanation. I knew about the 'bots' as my web host has software that'll 'invite then in' to get your site listed, it also logs all the bot trawls, just hadn't heard of a spider before. This particular spider didn't have a name showing, it just said [spider], which is how the bots sho...

What is the difference between a bot and a spider?

As often happens, as I type this I'm the only real registered person on line (apart from 2 anonymous guests) and I'm often accompanied by the Google and Yahoo bots' as I delete the Texas lovers typings, and tonight my cyber companions included the two bots and a spider - what is a spider, internetal...

Re: C Compiler questions

Two other reasonably priced C compilers for Pic's are Wiz-C (which I use) and Mikroelectronika C. Mikro C comes with a lot of libraries and is easy to use. It's biggest drawback is it doesn't produce optimised code. Fed-C (Wiz-C) produces reasonably optimised code, but has quirks within its IDE main...

This consists of 11 magazines (July/August are a combined publicat...

Re: Wireless weather station(Sept. 2007)

I am current trying to do the September 2007 wireless weather station project part 1. But every time I go to step four it never works. It can read whats on the modules, but it can't write anything to them. I know I have all the write parts as warned and instructed about in the article. But every ti...

Re: Help with RJ45 Network Connector

I'm going for:

Wrap one or two layers of sellotape around the plug.

Apply a thin strip of one side of Velcro to the top of the plug, probably the fluffy side.

Blue tak!

A small wedge of thin card.

Actually if this poster is genuine I feel somewhat sad for him/her to have made such an error.

Re: Electricity Usage Monitor

I am saddened Bigglez that you are not considering building either of the consumption meters in the app notes on the Microchip or Texas Instruments website or the note from the Allegro power interface chip! There was a simple meter project in EPE magazine back around 1999 which I built - w...
