why do you want to measure the spark anyway? if its firing and the engines running,,whats the problem?<p>now i had one time on a mower,, i had spark but engine wouldn't run... spark was red , not blue. come to find out the condenser of the points set was bad... after a quick fix, the spark was blue ...

they actually make fan speed controls...it looks like a dimmer but its slightly different.. HOME CHEAPO (depot) or SLOWS (lowes) should have them,, the one i have i use on a window fan works good.. but it might not be good on any large motor that uses a start/run setup.. like a centrifical switch or...

the lights flashing oppsite of each other is
all done inside the flasher...its a S.P.D.T
type relay inside the flasher unit...
the thermal ones have 3 terminals , and i think the newer electronic one do too,,,
