Re: Wireless Remote Control troubleshooting question
When troubleshhoting the 413 MHz transmitter/receiver remote control you have to first verify that the transmitter is operating. You need to examine the modulation input terminal of the Linx transmitting module with an oscilloscope to verify that the pulse train is present. Once so verified, a simpl...

Re: Kodak Photo Resist (KPR)
Thanks for the informaion about KPR. I did have a question which was where I could purchase this material, which you answered. I use KPR to make small runs of PC boards, but it is getting very expensive.

Kodak Photo Resist (KPR)
Does anyone here use Kodak Photo Resist, which is known as KPR, for making small quantities of printed circuit boards?

Re: 6volts to 3volts
The best way to reduce 6 volts to 3 volts is to use a switching regulator such as Linear Technology part number LT1616. There are dozens of chips like this available from Linear Technology, Maxim, and other manufacturers. Data sheets are available from their websites, and include schematic diagrams....

Printed circuit photoresist
Does anyone know of a source of positive acting liquid photoresist that can be used to sensitize a piece of copper clad? I want to make printed circuit boards using an ultraviolet light source and an artwork. Once so exposed and developed, the copper clad can then be etched in ferric chloride or oth...

Re: RF remotes
Check the April 2002 issue of Nuts and Volts. There is a remote control system that you can build.

Re: Small Remote Control Transmitter/Receiver
My easy-to-build remote control article was published in the April 2002 issue of Nuts and Volts. It consists of a small transmitter and receiver that operates at 416 MHZ. The RF sections of the circuits are ready-made low cost modules. The receiver contains a relay that can be used to operate any ot...

Re: zip files from NV website
I am using Windows 98. I went to another computer with Windows 98 and this one had winzip, so I could unzip the file. When I displayed the PCB layout I was able to print it out. Unfortunately it printed only half size, so it is useless to make a PC board using that artwork.

The July 2000 issue of Nuts and Volts carried my construction article using a MAX038 chip as a low cost function generator. PC boards are still available.

Re: daytime running lights
In the July 1996 issue of Popular Electronics Magazine (remember that?) there is my article on how to add daytime running lights to a vehicle. It is a simple circuit using a user variable 555 oscillator that allows the duty cycle fed to the headlights to be set anywhere from 10% to 50%. The 555 chip...
