Shorted widings can make one speed run, also switches but usually they fall apart then short. If you are using caps, yes they could be blown, which is back to bad wiring, reverse polarity, buzzing CBs etc. A poor ground/ neutral will increase the return wire resistance. The strain on it could cause ...

Start with your grounds, and if you’re a mobile / modular home, extra grounds on the body are required. See if your bonded at the panel for neutral to ground also, while some fans don’t have a controller, they wire the motor windings for the different speeds, then chose that wiring on the switch...

In the hundreds of examples of using the diodes to block any cross fire back to a parallel circuit in a VR, I never had any problems. [heat yes] It wasn’t like you ramp it up, and one VR conducts, the other is delayed, it was more like on and off, while both were protected from interference and cr...

They rate it at normal air, or forced air. Those usually work better but as I said they don’t have the CPU types that I always used, tons of fins, thin aluminum, 2 inch cube, and with a fan, they ran real cold on hot items. My basis here was visual, rather than the tried and true from the past. Th...

Its ambiguous and a conflict to say in one PS, diodes are bad, but in the next they are the cure? In both circumstances they may cure the problem, or perhaps not, but as a learner all options should be on the board, and tried for the learning experiences of building that project. Yes and No leaves m...

A rectifier bridge will sort out the correct polarity, no matter what direction the pole are, as long as the voltage is high enough to over come the slight drop. Even AC will be corrected into DC but you dont have any filters so ripple will come through. I placed one on my Timming light that was 12 ...

absolutely not I’ve seen this misconception before from others. The assumption that a diode only drops its rated Vf (forward voltage) value without regard for the current flowing through it. A diode only has this rated voltage drop just after it turns on and with the current through it generally ...

What radio freq are you on, and is side band enough? Jumbling can occur many ways. If you only want to screw with the government, make up a fake dialog, let them get sucked in, and bleed them dry. Its worth every second.....[ mine was two years] Dumb and dumber The bigger the false story, the more t...

My favorite was the CPU type which they didn’t have, but theirs was the thickest metal with the most amount of fins, and fans were suggested if needed.
