I sent a PM. If you need a paper trail, then I can't help you (or myself either).

I already knew that anything biological would interfere. What I heard is that pine trees attenuate substantially more than other species. When I heard this I was eager to believe it for reasons I am not ready to disclose. Thanks for the input so far, and I hope for more.

pine trees attenuate satellite dishes

Is this true? I heard it second or third hand from my neighbor. It sounds so believable that I want to accept it immediately, but my searches haven't turned up much of value. If anyone knows of an article please post a link.

I am sending this in relation to your reply to my question on the Nuts& Volts forum. Would you be so kind as to tell me what a running average accumulator is. Does it average the incoming sample with the average already in it or what. Thanks for your time. Aaron Bahler Have you sent this messag...

Okay, since you're asking I'll tell you some of what I've thought about doing with a similar situation. I'm also thinking about sampling AC with an ADC that has a 5 volt range, but it's part of a microcontroller. Anyway my plan is to take a sample every 500uS, square it and add it to a running avera...

MrAl, I think you're talking about the "extended" range chip- good from -40 to 125c. I didn't look too closely, but I seem to remember there being some difference between "flash" and "enhanced flash". It may have something to do with the E/W cycle durability or the numb...

It has been brought to my attention, and I believe what I have heard, that daylight savings time is continued to MAKE MONEY. The more hours of daylight after work, the more money people spend on frivolous things. That is why it has been advanced as well.

Thank you for your input SETEC_Astronomy. Let there be no confusion here, these are not brake lights I am b****ing about here. In fact I wish to obtain _blinking_ brake lights for exactly the same reason. What I am annoyed by are _tail_ lights. At this point I guess I'm in the uncommon few that noti...

flickering tail lights

At first it was only lincolns, but now I see cadillacs and volkswagens with flickering tail lights. Is this a manufacturing defect? Is is an engineering oversight? It gets particularly aggravating to visually scan the road and see thirty sets of tail lights strobing like an ambulance. Am I the only ...

I'm glad I asked. I couldn't find the articles and I couldn't remember any of it either. Everything I find seems to tell me that the the diameter and length of the helices are not significantly less (if at all) than the wavelength. I was hoping to have a CB antenna on my car that wasn't 2.75 meters ...

helix antennas

Some time ago I saw an article on helix antennas. It was probably in poptronics, but good luck find back issues of that, huh? Anyway it included information on two configurations, omnidirectional and "fires off the end". If anyone has the data on the geometries involved, please let me know.
