Re: (HCF4017BE) DECADE COUNTER WITH 10 DECODED OUTPUTS

I would use a timer that is triggered by the ringing clock to reset the 4017 if there isn't another ring within a few seconds. If a few seconds pass with no ring you can assume there won't be one.

Re: Changing file extensions using Windows XP or Win7

Is there a reason you can't use Notepad? Wordpad adds extra information and formatting to files that can cause problems with certain programs. Do you have "Display known file extensions" enabled?

Re: Smileys Workshop

My mistake, I clicked the link to my Feb digital issue, after clicking the March link I now see the reference to Workshop20Source.zip. It seems to be oversight or filename mixup. I've tried several combinations of filename based on the workshop 18 and 19 links, none worked. The file doesn't seem to ...

There is no Workshop20.zip, The March article is Part 2 of Workshop19 so the correct download is Smiley's Workhop 19 Source Code

Re: USB Switch problem

For the data lines are you using a twisted pair? Do you have any size of shielded cable on hand? It might be overkill but if the shoe fits, try it.

Re: KT3170 Vs. MT8870 DTMF Decoders

Does there exists any differences in the decoding response of KT3170/MT8870 DTMF Decoders ?. I am using MT8870 and have no capability to detect DTMF tones on on-hook state. You cannot decode DTMF with the phone on-hook. The call has NOT been established until you lift the phone therefore no audio i...

Re: BD-ROM: What's BD???

What is the difference between cd rom and dvd rom? I received a cd-rom on Amazon.com and it was supposed to be a dvd rom... It looks like the same product that I ordered but on the front it says cd-rom and on the listing it says dvd rom. Plain English version; Capacity. CD-ROMs can store anywhere 6...
