Hi haklesup. Is it really ..."just some phosphor coating on a plastic card. It works the way any phosphor works. "... ? The material on the card is only reactive to Infrared Light. Would then pointing at touch-range an IR remote to a CRT cause phosphorescence ? Or, scraping the coating in...

There are any number of causes... Take your pick. Agreed there are many ways the signal from the bird fails. This is a case of the audio failing while the PIX is still good. I see this more with the Over Air Broadcasts then with the Satellite Broadcasts. But I have an older RCA Satellite Receiver t...

If this Projection TV has the Individual Red, Green, and Blue CRT's. I agree with Bigglez, and get the set inside. Those old style CRT's have a water jacket that surrounds it to keep them from over heating. Leave it outside in freezing, or below freezing weather, and you'll likely cause the water ja...

Re: No breadboards at RadioShack : (

Went to buy one, nothing. They called a nearby branch, nothing. Cell phones, by the dozens. Asked if any had GPS, the clerk consulted with their compfuser system: No we don't have those... I browsed their displayed units, found five GPS 'enabled' whatever that be. Pointed them to another clerk, he ...

I always click the "find it near you" link in their on-line catalog. If it brings up a store that supposedly has the part I call them and ask and, if they say yes, most importantly, I ask them to go look to make sure. Good point jimandy. :) Many a time I've called, or just went by the on-...

Hi guy's Well since your all looking at ways to hold, and solder down SMD's. I thought you should consider this SMD Holder, that I came a cross in an old issue of Nut&Volts. http://www.postimage.org/gxRDu2r.jpg This is my own design, and feel free to make any changes. The only problem with this...

Re: RadioShack prototyping pcbs?

I was reading the article on breadboarding and saw the picture of the RadioShack 276-158B board, which has 3 hole pads and 2 busses running throughout (should have shown it in the article!). Great for IC projects when you need something bigger than the 1.5"x3" 276-150. My problem is that ...

Yeah, The commercials on the regular broadcast, or cable networks. Are using scare tactics, or not telling the full truth about the technology. The local PBS station has taken it upon themselves to try to help people understand the benefits, and the pitfalls of the technology. But they too are seein...
