Took me a while to figger your act, filber:philba wrote:That's uncalled for. Why go out of the way to get slap in?
You're always rooting for the underdog.
When that was me you'd PM advice. Now I'm on the
sharp end of your tounge. Too much time on your hands?

Where is that? I was hoping to learn about MIDI stuff, but thatrolerbe wrote:Areas 1 and 2 were moved to Area 51
article was just too hard to follow? Has anyone else here tried
to build the hardware, or understand the MIDI technology?

Re: Is RadioShack that confused?
Can you imagine what the prices would be if RS hired qualified technicians or Engineers for sales positions or if HD hired journeyman level carpenters to sell you nails. You would get great service but at an unacceptable price. Most of these jobs necessarily go to people with no more than a high sc...

Re: To PCB or not to PCB...
Bigglez: I think that's a bit unfair. Has nothing to do with "fairness". When we work on our pet projects we aren't comparing the time spent to what we could go out and sell it for, we're comparing it to watching TV or reading, or going for a walk, etc. Agreed. However, money and time are...

Re: To PCB or not to PCB...
If i factored in my time for my own personal projects i could not afford to build anything, small or large, using ANY pc board making technology. What is the state mandated min wages in your locale? Did you factor in your time (even at min wages)? While that may be true, I asked a different questio...

Re: Is RadioShack that confused?
When she called the 800 line to talk to a printer specialist, about an Okiidata printer they proudly informed her that it could do 540 copies per second. ... The 540 is really ' characters per second' . Enough said! More than enough said! So you ran into someone that is either not technical or lack...

Re: To PCB or not to PCB...
I can not say the same however when it comes to the tiny tiny SO patterns (smaller than 0.05 inch pitch) as these are a bit hard to make even with a laser printer. People have done it however. The whole point of double sides PCBs with solder masks for a hobby project is that new components are only...

Excellent post! You have reminded us of this electrical problem, richfloe wrote:The problem is most likely 12v coming out of the alternator on the lamp wire, thru the lamp, thru the relay coil to ground.
which was common on USA cars in the past.

Re: Is RadioShack that confused?
But the complaints are not just limited to RS. When I go into Home Depot, Lowes or a number of other big box stores, I get the same treatment from their clerks. When asked a question about a product, they grab the item from your hand and start reading the labels ( which of course I have already don...

Re: Is RadioShack that confused?
This reminded me of the story told to me by an engineer from a large high technology company. - Seems someone in incoming QC inspection was testing all of the fuses. And yes, they all worked... And put the now tested, open fuses into the stock room. When I first visited Japan I was a little taken b...
