Michael,
I am using this post to respond to your other post this morning (June 16, 2004)regarding your interest in getting started in microcontrollers:
Have you gotten started in robotics yet? Did you go for the Boe-Bot? If so, then the Parallax microcontrollers/programmers/compilers are the way...

Interfacing a Palm III w/ BS2

Dave Johnson's book "The Ultimate Palm Robot" shows in detail how to interface the Palm III with the Pontech SV203. The Palm is loaded with HotpawBasic and linked to the controller with a serial cable.
However, is there a way to interface a Palm III with a Basic Stamp? I am guessing I would need s...

Re: Making a Backup copy of a DVD

I shot off that last reply without really thinking. Im sure your document is not in the native format (MS Word, ACAD etc.) and is probably a pdf document built from jpeg or tiff files and other non-compressible type files.

Re: Learning about Robotics

Michael,
A good way to get started in robotics is to get a Boe-Bot from Paralax (they are also sold at retail stores like where I got mine at Frys Electronics).
It comes with all of the parts you need and a couple of great books that walk you through all of the steps. It uses the Basic Stamp II ...

Re: can visual basic control serial or usb port power?

Mike,
The first article is in the N&V Nov 2001 Vol 22 No. 11 page 73, Ray Green. this has everything you need to build a serial port I/O with relay.
The second article is also helpful. It is in the N&V Aug 2002.
