Re: Problem with AccessHD DTA1080 DTV Converter Box

Yes,
Digikey is a good source for the capacitors and the Opto-Switcher.

Just make sure to check the physical size of the capacitors.
Some of area's on the PCB can be tight for space.
So try finding replacement capacitors that are similar in size.

Re: Problem with AccessHD DTA1080 DTV Converter Box

Do you have an ERS Meter? If you do, check the capacitors in circuit with it. That way you can avoid having to pull the capacitor out of the PCB to check it. Though, given the age of the converter box. Re-Caping the power supply circuit wouldn't be a bad idea. I've had capacitors that look ph...

Re: Problem with AccessHD DTA1080 DTV Converter Box

Those DTV Converter Boxes have issues with the Capacitors failing in the 12V supply.
Also, The Opto Switch is also known to fail.
Part No# TNY277PN {It sells for as little as .60 cents}.

Re: How Do you Clean A Deep Fryer?

Addition: The Hamiton Beach Deep Fryer had to be throw out. :( The AC Power Connector Interface in the Base of the unit, and the Temperature Control Panel that Plugs in to it melted. So, now they're stuck together. Thus, I can't get it apart to clean the fry tub. :( Currently...... I'm looking at D...

Re: looking for a timer

Okay, After much web mining I found this.... https://contestimg.wish.com/api/webimage/5e691c94c96e28cff18ffbe6-1-large.jpg It has the programmable Seconds intervals that you need. And it isn't too expensive. https://www.wish.com/product/5e691c94c96e28cff18ffbe6?hide_login_modal=true&from_ad=goog_sho...

Re: looking for a timer

Moe, Most commercially available electric analog programmable timers can only do 30 to 15 minute intervals. Most commercially available electric digital programmable timers can only do 1 minute intervals. What do you need to switch? Commercially available or kit/home-made? That would help us figure ...

Re: The Eternal $19.00 Radio

Hmmm........... I was working on a camcorder, it used 8mm video cassette tapes. Anyway, on the main power traces of the PCB were these SMD fuses. A short had happened, and caused one to pop. Luckly, off on the very outside of the PCB, away from the rest of the circuit. Were two of these same fuses s...

Re: Sole Treadmill Repair

Mine is a magnetic pickup. Okay, Look at the rotor wheel that is on the motor shaft. Is the magnet in its place on the rotor wheel? Did it come loose, and fall off? If the magnet is still in place on the rotor wheel. Then disconnect the sensor, and connect it to a DMM. Set the DMM to "Continuity". ...

Re: Sole Treadmill Repair

Cool.

But, until the new display board arrives.
Try the quick repair, of cleaning the opto sensor that is mounted on the motor.
It's fairly easy to do. :)

Re: Sole Treadmill Repair

When you say it is flashing "3", do you mean more like "E3"?

If that's the case.
Take a look at this repair video.

Re: searchine for 2mm JST 5P male connectors

I agree with haklesup, The connector is designed to plug in to this type of header. https://media.digikey.com/photos/JST%20Photos/S5B-PH-K-S.jpg https://www.digikey.com/catalog/en/partgroup/ph-series/2825 So, any way you look at it. Your going to be doing a lot of soldering. Signed: Janitor T...

Re: The Eternal $19.00 Radio

I wish I still had this one odd ball AM/FM portable radio that was given to me by a friend. Who's younger brother had tossed around, and broke the AM/FM DPDT Slide switch. I brought it home. Dug through my parts draws, and found a small DPDT Toggle Switch I could replace the old switch with. I clean...
