Hi there, The circuit is the monostable circuit on the data sheet, i believe it's figure 1, "Monostable". The nomograph for R and C is figure 3. Clearly it shows roughly a 10sec delay for R=1Meg and C=22uf (or near that anyway). The data sheet is for LM555. Mral, Not all 555 timers are created equa...

UPDATE: Well, I found the problem..... The Mode Select Switch was the culprit. It didn't look bad at first. But after pulling it apart a second time. I found the copper wiper that is attached to the plastic slide had snapped off. I made several tries to re-attach it. But it just kept snapping off w...

Quasar VCR Problem Solved......

I got in an old Quasar VH5251YW.{Circa; 1985} With a problem with it being stuck in rewind. I can't find a service manual for it. I've already tried Sams PhotoFacts and came up with nothing. I know Panasonic and RCA have used this same chassis for they're own VCR's. So, I'm trying to find one of the...

Sorry, '96 pre-dated my interest in electronics, I was exclusively an IT guy way back then. :) Rats! I also looked into the scanning-and-burning process, since I already scan all my financial stuff, but scanning full pages at a decent resolution * that many pages * that many magazines... ouch....

Re: Question about the CD back-issues (Servo, N&V)

I'm looking at replacing my space-expensive paper copies with the CD versions now available. I REALLY like the PDF format for magazines, but for magazines with projects in them that require support files (either source code, PCB patterns, or whatever), are they included with the CD? Or is it exclus...

How is the Television connected to the Cable Box? RCA Cables? Left, Right Stereo & Video Cables? S-Video and the two RCA Left & Right Cables? Have you tried just connecting a Antenna to the set, and check for broadcast signal? If It works ok on Antenna. Then I would say you have a problem in the vid...

LED'S USED AS RECTIFIER DIODES.....

Thank's with the help on the 6V Power Supply everyone. But, here's a question for the Engineer's here in this forum. I saw back in the early 80's, at this local Stereo/Television dealer. They were selling "Luxman" Audio Equipment. A pamphlet that was being given out to those who were interested in i...

Hi again, Would have been nice to know exactly which one of those solutions actually solved the problem...maybe the regulator alone would have done it without the need for anything else. Sometimes it helps to do one thing at a time and test it before going to the next trial solution. This way you k...

Thanks for your suggestions and help everyone. I think I'm going to goto one of the local Electronic Surplus Stores and look for a 9Vdc or 12Vdc WallWart that has an output Current of 800ma or higher. Next; I'll install a 6Vdc Regulator, and add extra filtering to it. Hopefully this will end ...
