Re: I'm Starving here....

Man, that video is so fake..... I picked over a dozen things that were fake about it..random poking around the yolk with the Iron for 1, and scrubbing off all the material off the back of the tube, and then there's no HV Anode lead on the Flyback transformer. and what are the chances that there wer...

Re: Help a Fellow Out

Sean,

I found this circuit on Sparkfun.
https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/si ... -guide/all
They have discontinued the kit, but the schematic is listed there, with a parts listing.

Hope that helps.

Re: Help a Fellow Out

I agree with dyarker, It will be hard, too impossible to hack a FM radio that has LSI IC in side. You would need a AM/FM Radio from the late 60's to 70's that you can still find a schematic for. Back in the 60's and in to the 70's there were kit's for High frequency Receivers for Air traffic, Police...

Re: I-Phone to flat screen with HDMI

Cool! But no audio to the TV, right? Audio stays on your device, i.e., phone, iPad, etc.? Not sure...... Some services that are pay, {Nexflix, Amazon, Etc...} will not let you stream over to a TV/Monitor. {This may have changed, so check.} Since this adapter plugs in to HDMI on the TV/Monito...

Re: Citizens band (CB) Radio: Who still uses it?

I used to love the CB radio,, but there was always some drunk asshole with a high power linear amp. putting the foot on all 40 channels with bleed over. But over time things got worse.. the CB has now become Mexican telecom, During the day, it's all you can hear on all the channels,, hard to talk a...

Re: Citizens band (CB) Radio: Who still uses it?

It's been a good few years since I've used mine. Both units are sitting in the basement. Kind of hard to use a gutter mount antenna when you no longer have a gutter to mount it to. Didn't have a gutter mount, I went with a magnetic mount. Also, since CB was so HOT at the time. I could remove ...

Re: Citizens band (CB) Radio: Who still uses it?

Not me. Last thing I learned is the 23 channel units are illegal to sell, but legal to use. :???: Well.... That's because they went to 40 channel units. Retailer's are just not allowed to sell the older 23 channel units. STORY: I was at a Hamfest some years ago. A local electronics dealer {Now Defu...

Citizens band (CB) Radio: Who still uses it?

Back in the Mid 1970's up into the early 1980's I got into the CB craze. Putting up a Quarter Wave Antenna on my father's Garage, and running the RG8X Coaxial Coax Cable with UHF Connectors on it, to the Base Station in the back bed room of the folk's house. I'd talk to friends around the area, and ...

Re: OTA TV frequency reallocation

A lot of the streaming stuff is old TV shows. Thou...... Many local OTA TV Stations are live streaming they're programing now. But most streaming services will require at least 50Mbs Internet service speeds to work reliably. People who have Netflix, and have internet speeds that are slower than 50Mb...

Re: Poking fun at the coronavirus.

UV light or "Black Light" will show you how well you washed your hands. Many germs and bacteria can be killed by UV light. But, how well it sanitizes depends on light intensity, distance from the light source, and amount of time the surface area is exposed. How long does it take for a UV light to ki...

Re: OTA TV frequency reallocation

Yeah, this is an on going thing. Ever since the FCC frequency buy off. Plus, now with the roll out of 5G for live streaming. OTA is forced to juggle around the frequencies they will broadcast on, too accommodate for it. Also, when new channels get added, you'll need to rescan, so you can get them a...
