Re: I need a formula to prove a point

Hackles I do appreciate your point but this is a hypothetical situation. What I want is a way of mathematically showing the theory that it will work.

I need a formula to prove a point

What I need to "prove" is; This is an example - Say there is a 10 amp fuse in a circuit. That fuse gets blown. I don't have another 10 amp fuse to replace it but I do have two 5a. fuses on hand. I parallel these two 5a. fuses and temporarily insert them into the circuit until I can get the proper fu...

SD card eraser or cleaner?

I have 4 different items that use SD cards. Is there a cleaner or eraser prog. (prefer free) that will clean them so I don't have to remember what is on them and what to use them in? Right now I can only clean photos with Picasa and only one of my devices takes pictures. I am tired of buying new SD ...

Looking for an old GIF program

About four computers ago I found a small program download that made buttons that the mouse would chase around. It was fun because you could tell someone to "Click here" or whatever and when they tried - the button would move away. Also I think the same program did a "Mouse over". Does anyone have an...

Re: weather protectant

Thanks for all the answers and options. Got it fairly well covered. Some of it can be "plasti-diped" and I especially liked the idea on the Armour all (got some laying around.

Again, thanks for all the help.

weather protectant

Can anyone recommend a spray type moistureproofer to prevent corrosion in a high humidity environment like a boat control panel? Something that doesn't conduct and can be easily wiped off to change terminals. Copper terminal strips, tinned terminals, spade terminals, at 12 vdc.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Recording Video surveillance

Jollyrgr that sounds perfect. If it works good then I will probably upgrade to several cameras but just one for now. Monday I will try your suggestions. Thanks a lot and I will update this thread with my results.

Thanks go to Nuts and volts and T&L for this forum.

Re: Recording Video surveillance

Thanks lenp. I understand how this would work and it is probably the best solution as far as "build-it-yourself" goes. This would work especially well with the older vcrs. The motion detector triggers the microprocessor which triggers the reed relays to start recording, and after the motion detector...

Recording Video surveillance

What I want to do - Record video from a digital camera hooked to my computer. I want it activated by dry contacts on a motion sensor for a short period of time (5 min.) or so, and then standby until the sensor is triggered again. The sensors I have have an adjustable time on/off. What I've got - P4,...

For the application you are talking about, reliability sounds important. A 277/24vac transformer is not a "pricey" item. I'm assuming you will use 24vac to operate a contactor. The transformer will cost 1/10 what the contactor will. Do it properly, lights are dependable, nobody gets hurt, you look g...
