Re: Laser for CNC router?

Hi bsparky, Yup, I'm using steppers also. I have found some rather large steppers on the black market (eBay) :-) I also think that it would be a lot better with servos, but steppers are a lot easier to impliment. I must confess that I'm not an expert when it comes to servos, so we went the stepper r...

Laser for CNC router?

I'm debating whether or not to stick a laser on a CNC router that I've built. I would like a laser that would burn/cut wood. If it could engrave metal that would be nice also. There seems to be quite a few different kinds of lasers, and I am wondering what kind would be a good choice? Again, this ma...

Re: Nuts & Volts in digital form

I totally agree with Dale Y! An electronic version of Nuts & Volts would be just fine with me, just as long as it doesn't take away my paper edition! I much prefer flipping pages to scrolling. But I don't travel either, so I have no reason for needing an electronic version. Good luck, Yahya!

I realize that the BSEE is not a piece of cake. I do have an aptitude to learn though, and I somebody puts something i...

Re: Need advice! B.SEE or not?

Thanks for all the advice! I do feel that advice coming from professionals has got to be as good as it gets! I am kind of leaning toward Chris Smith's method. What are the pro's and con's of that method? Also, what are the important exams to take? I'll give a little better description of myself also...

Need advice! B.SEE or not?

Hi everybody, I'm new to this forum, but it sure does look like a good one! My question is directed at some of you more experienced techies and engineers. My problem is this: I'm an electrical maintenance technician with no formal training. I'm still quite young (24) and for a long-term goal, would ...
